STR Podcast on Near death experiences

Post by DRDS »

Hey everyone, since this is a interesting topic that's been talked about quite a bit here I thought I would share with you all this really cool interview.

This is a radio podcast from Greg Kokul's Stand to Reason Podcast. Near the two hour mark is a interview featuring Gary Habermas and the topic is NDEs. I really liked it and I'm sure you all will too.

Very good podcast bro. The one that caught my eye was the secular survey taken on doctors in America in which 70% of doctors said they believed in miracles. Doctors have a unique perspective since they are more privy to witnessing Nde's in patients then most people. Another interesting stat in that podcast was that over 8 million people have experienced some type of near death phenomenan.

I remember an atheist/humanist origination (I believe it was an Australian organization ) talks about how good the evidence for Nde's is and that there is a need for atheists to try to redefine the meaning of naturalism to include Nde's so that the evidence wouldn't embarrass atheists. In another words he wants atheists to redefine the nature of naturalism to keep the supernatural and God out of it lol. This is what I call a classic case of dogmatic denial in order for atheists to remain atheists.

Another good article from Gary habermas talks about a paradigm shift that will leave naturalism as the odd man out here. It has some very good examples of Nde's that are extremely difficult to explain in purely naturalistic ways.
