Isaiah 52:14:
"Just as there were many who were appalled at him[c]—
his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any human being
and his form marred beyond human likeness—"
Isaiah 53:2-3:
"He grew up before him like a tender shoot,
and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
3 He was despised and rejected by mankind,
a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.
Like one from whom people hide their faces
he was despised, and we held him in low esteem."
(NIV)

Look of our Saviour
But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.
-- 1 Thessalonians 5:21
For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

John 5:24
24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

Some people have read those passages and concluded that Jesus carried upon himself the afflictions of those he healed.
That in the end he looked leprous and ill and battered and broken.

Re: Look of our Saviour
What will always amaze me is the fact that he CHOSE to come down from heaven. He became a curse(Galatians 3:14), poor(2 Corinthians 8:9), sin and sickness(Isaiah 53:34) just for us. All we have to do for love and peace and salvation is to accept this with a thankful heart.
