What's so great about the iphone?
Okay guys. I am need some suggestions.
I have never owned an apple product. I have used a few, like the mac-book and iPod. I am not impressed with either.
I recently bought a Google Nexus 4. Very beautiful device, runs on android.
On a spec to spec basis...iphone 5 comes way short of the Nexus 4.
my phone is quadcore...iphone 5 is dual core
nexus has 2gb of ram...iphone 5 has 1gb.
Nexus screen is 4.7 inches HD....iphone's 5 at 4 inch retina
Nexus has NFC...iphone does not have it.
the one thing which makes me wonder even more...the Nexus 4 16gb costs $299...the iphone 5 16gb costs around $648...why? I have no idea.
But a few of my friends who have iphones are constantly talking about the "apple experience". Sadly I have little idea what that means. They have almost persuaded me to try the next iphone when apple launches it. I am not sure. I have always found myself limited by ios, hence I always used windows and andriod and I don't get the fancy price schemes of apple.
I would appreciate if any of you who have tried the "apple experience", can tell me whats different about it? Whats the wow factor that I am missing on andriod?
NOTE: I AM TALKING ABOUT UNLOCKED PHONES...SO WHICH CARRIER I GO WITH HAS NO SAY ON THE MATTER.

It would be a blessing if they missed the cairns and got lost on the way back. Or if
the Thing on the ice got them tonight.
I could only turn and stare in horror at the chief surgeon.
Death by starvation is a terrible thing, Goodsir, continued Stanley.
And with that we went below to the flame-flickering Darkness of the lower deck
and to a cold almost the equal of the Dante-esque Ninth Circle Arctic Night

Neo, neo, neo . . . You are asking an impossible question. It is the same here as with all religious claims. Some things can only be known by experience, but once you are enlightened, the whole world just makes sense and you wonder how you could have ever thought anything else.
You will try, and you will see. You will love and praise the mighty A--le, and it shall be in your heart, and you will share the good news of all things i with the world.

And that, brothers and sisters, is the kind of foolishness you get people who insist on denying biblical theism. A good illustration of any as the length people will go to avoid acknowledging basic truths.Proinsias wrote:I don't think you are hearing me. Preference for ice cream is a moral issue

Re: What's so great about the iphone?
Yeah...you may be right. The only thing is, it costs a lot of money upfront and i have no idea what I am going for. For instance even my nexus cost $500 in pakistan. The iphone would cost about $800. Thats some amount for me. In pakistan and india, there is no cellphone with network deals. You have to buy the whole thing upfront. I guess that was why I was asking.Neo, neo, neo . . . Re: What's so great about the iphone?
Neo,
Probably not much help, but I have an iPhone 4. It's my first smart phone, and I have no way to compare it to anything else. I have an iPod, so I didn't have to relearn how to use my new phone. The one thing I don't like, is that I can't copy and paste images. I can't even paste an image from my photos. The few people I've talked to that know anything about smart phones, all say the same thing. Apple is too restrictive. Apple products are more reliable than other phones.
The reason I chose an iPhone 4 is because my phone died, and my iPhone 4 was "free" with my phone company.

And I am only talking about a 16gb model. If I go for a 32 gb model. That would probably cost me $900-1100. Is it worth it? I am not sure.Neo, the $300-$400 difference is huge.

Neo, don't forget that PaulSacramento is Canadian. Just trade him straight up, an iPhone for a beer. Canadians will trade away their first born for beer.
