Er... Apathy

Post by GreyDeSilvisanctis »

I want to ask.
How should I approach an apathetic person and talk about Christianity?
Ever since I moved into the city, I find a lot of people in the university so apathetic that its appalling. I wager its the result of having all they had wanted all their lives. They seem so cooped up in their mansions that they really don't have any care in the world.
How do I persuade them that there is a higher calling?

I appreciate your replies, thanks. :)

No. If you do that you'll be as annoying as a mosquito buzzing in his ear. Just be yourself! and have the person question you about what makes you so enjoyable to be around.

You can't. God, working through the Holy Spirit, is the One who will persuade them. As for you, just be ready.

If they had a social gospel in the days of the prodigal son, somebody would have given him a bed and a sandwich and he never would have gone home.

excellent answer.
It would be a blessing if they missed the cairns and got lost on the way back. Or if
the Thing on the ice got them tonight.

Matthew 5:14-16
"14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; 15 nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven."
But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.
-- 1 Thessalonians 5:21

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.
-- Philippians 1:6
