Of course he had a wife, his church.
Let us proclaim the mystery of our faith: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.
Lord I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.

He was a Jewish rabbi and they are allowed to marry.
My point is that if he had a wife there would have been no reason for the Gospels not to mention it.

Well for one, if rabbis marry, they also have children. That would mean little gods running around.PaulS wrote:

LOL !
You do bring up an interesting point, If Jesus had children, would they be "Of God" or "of man" ?
Jesus was bodily a human so I would argue that they would not be divine or share in His divine nature.

Re: Did Jesus have a Wife?
I agree with Paul, if Jesus had children they would only have received his human genetic information along side his wife's. When I think of the duality of Jesus' nature I more think his spirit is the duality, being both divine and human, not the physicality of his body.
As to the OP question, I have no idea where that notion came from, there is no credible texts that support that idea that I know of. Maybe the Gnostic texts?

1Tim1:15-17
Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever.Amen.

Re: Did Jesus have a Wife?
I can tell you the motive behind those perpetrating this falsehood - they want to do all they can to make Jesus appear to be ONLY a mere mortal and moral teacher. The next and related step is they often state that Jesus had sexual relationships with other women. They want to do everything possible to remove belief in His Deity, to sow doubt in what Scripture actually says about Him. It sells books and History Channel narratives, but it ain't Scriptural!
