Just this morning I learned of the tragic death of a colleague, someone I've known and worked with for over 15 years (her office is right next to mine). She was out last week for some supposedly routine surgery on her feet to relieve chronic swelling. She had the surgery on Tuesday and was home by Wednesday. By Friday she did not feel well so she went back to the hospital where they discovered a blood clot that had traveled to her lungs, causing blood poisoning and, as a result, major organ failure. She was gone yesterday morning. Maria was in her late 50s.

Sorry, it's Friday already. This wednesday one colleague also passed away. In sleep he got heart attack. Sometimes I have seen him via video meeting. Was funny man.
