In 1964, the average salary was $6,000 a year...and most things were made in the US..and unemployment was minimal.
A person working in 1964 at minimum wage...would have earned $2,500 at 40hrs. a week for 50 weeks for the year!
So; today in the U.S.... 40% of this country is making less (with current buying power) than a minimum wage worker did in 1964!
Wake up liberalphobes...history shows us that oppressing working people never leads to a good ending.
We have been depending on super cheap labor and goods; mostly from Asia; and government assistance programs
to fill the void that these sub-$12 per hour jobs create.
