annoying double underlined blue line pop-up links

Post by B. W. »

how do you remove the annoying double underlined blue line pop-up links?

I use Google chrome - have add blocker and yet these annoying double underlined words in blue line appear and if mouse cursor touches them - pop-up links happen.

How in the heck can you get rid of them?

I set setting to block all pops ups and these appear and pops galore...

Is this a Java Code setting add sites are employing? If so - how do you disable?

Even on this site and discussion forum I am seeing these - these must go.

Can we launch a collective law suite against these companies and stop this. Just typing this is a nightmare - pop up adds keep coming - what good is blocking pops and ad blocker if they do not work?

I had that on my computer yesterday. I went into my control panel and uninstalled the program. Just roll over one of the words, to see who the advertiser is. Then look for that name in your programs, and uninstall that program. Then restart your computer, and you should be good.
John 5:24

I do not see the program in the program files - what is it called?

I am ready to toss the computer out the window...

Mine wasn't savingsbull. It was called Quikxxxx. I can't remember exactly. I think it's a virus.

Here is more - I found this checking another recent install called PassShow... and did a internet search on it and found this site on how to remove these types of programs.

They appear to come in many different names

Here si the link for anyone seeing this happen and how to remove it from a variety of browsers...

http://malwaretips.com/blogs/passshow-virus-removal/

I think it is best to note recent program installs in program files - and uninstall them works best

I think these came on due to either a recent JAVA update or Itunes Update - not sure which one this stupid add package came with but Updaters beware!
