Well you're off by about 575 years but I'm glad to see for once the Pope is not being blamed for something.UsagiTsukino wrote:The Pope didn't exist until 606AD. So the Pope didn't change it.
Sabbath
Re: Sabbath
Let us proclaim the mystery of our faith: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.
Lord I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.

Re: Sabbath
I think it is important to remember the spirit of the law, the spirit of the Sabbath was for man to rest just as God had "rested" (ceased creating). It does not matter which day you rest, but it matters that you do rest from your labors and spend time with God and family. The Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath.

Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever.Amen.

Re: Sabbath
I don't think you are understanding what I'm saying.. Let me rephrase it. The changing of the sabbath from Saturday to Sunday did not originate with the Catholic church. It goes back many years even before Christianity arrived. The Catholic church however instituted it into their doctrine which then influenced Christianity as we know it today.UsagiTsukino wrote:Excuse me but there is a references to Sunday in 90 Ad and the catholic church did not appear until 107

Re: Sabbath
Actually that isn't true at all..UsagiTsukino wrote:Acts 20:7 speaks of Communion. So to say the Catholic church changed it is false. There already Christians celebrated it before 325 AD and before 107 AD. The Pope didn't exist until 606AD. So the Pope didn't change it.
Jesus broke the Sabbath and it would be a sin for him to do it but he did not sin.
"According to the Bible, each day begins at sundown and ends at the next sundown (Genesis 1:5, 8, 13, 19, 23, 31 Leviticus 23:32) and the dark part of the day comes first. So Sabbath begins Friday night at sundown and ends Saturday night at sundown. This meeting of Acts 20 was held on the dark part of Sunday, or on what we now call Saturday night. The New English Bible* begins Acts 20:7 like this: "On the Saturday night in our assembly ..."
It was a Saturday-night meeting, and it lasted until midnight. Paul was on a farewell tour and knew he would not see these people again before his death (verse 25). No wonder he preached so long! (No regular weekly service would have lasted all night.) Paul was "ready to depart on the morrow." The "breaking of bread" has no "holy day" significance whatever, because they broke bread daily (Acts 2:46). There is not the slightest indication in this Scripture passage that the first day is holy, nor that these early Christians considered it so. Nor is there the remotest evidence that the Sabbath had been changed. Incidentally, this meeting is probably mentioned in the Scripture only because of the miracle of raising Eutychus back to life after he fell to his death from a third-floor window. In Ezekiel 46:1, God refers to Sunday as one of the six "working days."
