You've weakened the argument by making it about desire, but it is at least that, yes. The blessed will not desire sin because they will see perfectly what is good, what is rational, what is right, and that is what will make it desirable. But, insofar as desires are concerned, that is correct. Not only will they not desire it, but they will look upon the very idea with a stomach turning wretch. Even the idea of the smallest sin to them is more reviling than the actual act of raping and murdering your mother is to you today.Kenny wrote:So if I understand you correctly, at that time people will have "practical Impeccibality" and the ability to see God; two things people do not have right now; so nobody will have the desire to sin. Is that correct?

And that, brothers and sisters, is the kind of foolishness you get people who insist on denying biblical theism. A good illustration of any as the length people will go to avoid acknowledging basic truths.Proinsias wrote:I don't think you are hearing me. Preference for ice cream is a moral issue

If practical impeccability and the ability to see God prevents people from having that desire to sin in the new world; why do you suppose God didn’t give people this in the current world? Seems a lot of sin could have been preventedJac3510 wrote:You've weakened the argument by making it about desire, but it is at least that, yes. Because God saw it fitting to make that end (the beatific vision) a gift, which entails an offer and acceptance. The same held true for angels, by the way. Some accepted the gift, and others rejected it and fell. See the page I linked Paul to earlier for an in depth discussion on that.
