Melanie,

I wouldn't believe him, he's Canadian. Not just Canadian, French Canadian!
Which means that's he's sorry and very polite about not liking himself.
But I thought the french were rude and not polite, but I take your word for it Paul, as a fellow Canadian :)

The french are rude but french Canadians are less rude ( they still have some Canadian in them after all, not much though) and because of the eternal conflict of french ( rude and self-defeating) and Canadian ( awesome and we know it, even if we apologize for being so awesome) in them, french-canadians like FL are basically masochists, that is why he has fundamentalist leaning.

Dearest melanie,

Please do not listen to that anglo-Canadian ogre, PaulSacramento. Remember: I was the first here to say that I liked you, now all these dumb guys are falling all over you because you have a nice photo. Ha! I liked you when your photo was just a blank grey square. Men are so superficial...

Personal photo Avatars can be soo misleading too! For example, see what Rick really looks like here:

http://img1.bdbphotos.com/images/orig/b ... g?kj8as6ye

See why it is better to use an object or something else for an avatar!

Oh and here are some home movies of Rick, FL, and me...

Slapstick comedy is not my usual thing but these guys nailed it!
And yes personal avatars can be misleading, it's amazing what a bit of makeup, the right angle and proper lighting can do,

No. No one will really care about your apology except another girl. And the only girl here is 1/137.

May I give you the blunt honest truth about men? Had you posted a photo showing you to be a 440-pound woman with dirty hair and a cigarette dangling from the corner of her mouth, all of these guys would ignore you. Sorry to break your illusions!

True story: Lucille was a waitress in a diner, and there she met Paul. Lucille was (and now at 60+, is,) stunningly attractive; Paul was a young engineer, very smart, and awkward around Lucille whom he felt was the most beautiful woman he had ever laid eyes upon. They marry and live happily. Fast Forward 40 years: I'm talking to Lucille who is confiding in me that Paul's Alzheimer means he no longer knows what is going on. She is crying. I want to comfort her so I tell her: ''Paul always loved you. he loved you from the moment he first saw you. You were the most beautiful woman in the world to him, and your beauty is what first attracted him to you.'' Lucille stiffens at my words and says, ''I'd like to think he was first attracted to my intelligence!''

...I didn't leave Lucille with her illusion...but our exchanged finished well. Paul died a short time later and he was always happy to see Lucille even though he didn't quite know who she was.

What a crock of shite!
Was the the honest truth about men or Yourself??
Unless you you suffer from the same affliction as elderly Paul in your story I posted that picture a couple days ago and have had many responses on here previously.
Last time I checked this was a Christian forum not a dating website, then your views may be somewhat valid but still sad, fickle and superficial.
There are no shattered illusions here, I was being facetious in that comment, which I am hoping you are being also.
My reason for putting a personal avatar is because I like to personally know who I'm chatting with, it doesn't make the slightest difference to my perception of them but it makes it more personable. Just my opinion and I understand why others wouldn't.
True beauty lies in someone's spirit, we hear it all the time but there is a lot of wisdom in those words. Some of the most beautiful people I have met turn out to be the ugliest. A smile that lights up a room that shines through someone's spirit is the kind of beauty that people endear to, a sparkle and kindness in someone's eyes is a beauty that others respond too as it reflects the beauty of someone's soul. You are missing out on alot of beauty if you only see the worldly definition of it.

I'm not sure where you get the gall to berate others on not being "real" Christians in the other threads, quite frankly. Combine this with your story of your "friend" Claude, who you display on the internet as your example of a pathetic human being, and it is apparent that you are a douche. I'm downright stupefied by your cruelty.

OK, try posting a photo of you as a 440-lb woman with dirty hair and a cigarette dangling from her mouth and we'll see. :pound:

Huh? When did I berate others with not being ''real'' Christians? You'll have to look hard, Seraph, because that isn't me. Give me some examples instead of putting your foot in your mouth.

As you pointed out there is only one women on here and she is tech admin so you have to watch your sexist, superficial ass with her otherwise she would kick it out. ;)
I am truly amazed that the women aren't flocking here with sentiments like that!
You have been so quick to say how the men's reaction to me changed, I don't think anyone's opinion or perception of me changed except your own.
That just comes down to substance of character, but that's okay, you can work on that.

Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever.Amen.

I hope you are just joking my friend :)

Actually I did care, and its not because of her avatar. I thought we had started on the wrong foot and considering that Mel was new here, I was hoping she would get to know us better, and I am glad she saw that too.

Some of my good friends here are people whom I have never seen, and that was true even before I saw Hana's picture, she can attest to it I am sure. Same goes for you, Dan, Mallz, Ivel, Danny, Paul, Bippy, reactionary, and then some more.

I think people are more than their photos and their ideas. ;)
