In a vision, Daniel saw four great beasts come up from the sea ( this is the sea of mankind on earth ) each one being different from another.
These beasts are the last four, of the seven major kingdoms who rule over the earth. MEDO- PERSIA / GREESE /ROME /ANGLO-AMERICA

Daniel was eager to know about the fourth beast, Anglo-America, it was terrible and powerful, and it shall devour the whole earth. ANGLO-AMERICA were victorious during the second world war, with victory over Europe and victory over Japan.

This beast is the same beast as spoken of at Revelation 13 and 17. A little horn came up from amongst the ten horns, before which three of the first horns were plucked up by the roots, this little horn had the eyes of a man and it spoke great things.

We left off at Revelation 17 where the the ten European members who signed up to the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, who the bible speaks of as the ten kings, are to begin their short rule. This was in 1949, as spoken of by Daniel, the year in which the abomination that maketh desolate was set up. Daniel 12: 11

In 1967, the ten kings short rule came to a end, the little horn took over control. He became known as NATO. He is the eighth king and he began his rule from Brussels in 1967

He was originally given a time,times and half a time, (1,260 years) for his dominion rule, but a charge of attempting to change times and law was made against him. His days were to be cut short.

As Daniel continued the vision, thrones were placed,and the Ancient of Days took his seat in the court of the Holy ones, his clothing was as white as snow, his throne was fiery flames. A stream of fire was flowing and came out from before him, a thousand thousand served him and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him.The court of the Holy Ones sat in judgement, books were opened, they decided his dominion rule shall be taken away from him, he was to be consumed and destroyed.
The kingdom and dominion shall be given to the people of the holy ones, of the Most High.

Could the details in Daniel fit ... the book of Daniel is only concerned about the major players, the great empires of the world, and not any minor politicians or localized persuasions, past, present and future.

What do you make of the World Council of Churches that was inspired prior to WW1? Is it evil or a representation of Babylon the Great in Revelation?

How about the fact that the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem now has the Dome of the Rock, controlled by Islam, as its capstone since 70 AD? Many Jews suggest nothing is going to happen until the temple is rebuilt.

I'd be interested in anyone's thoughts as to whether or not these have any prophetic bearing.

Only the temple comes to my attention, because I have little knowledge of the WCC.

The prophecies in Daniel begin with a simple dream and end with, the longest recording of information given by an angel of God, in the last two chapters.

Daniel 11:45 seems to be talking about this site you mentioned. It is an angel's point of view, or heaven's way of seeing world events, hence the angel always talks about whether the earthly powers are doing "according to his (the enemy's) will" - Satan. It is plain from all previous visions, that Satan is behind the accumulation of populations and subsequent captivity through empires and systems of false religion.

Daniel outlines his war on the saints in particular, with persecution and deception.

When you say 'the earthly power on this site will come to an end", I assume you are speaking about the temple site. Daniel 12:11-12 "From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days."

The daily sacrifice was abolished in Christ's death around 32AD as far as Christians are concerned. Regarding Isreal/Jews, the practice of sacrifice stopped in the year 70 C.E., when the Roman army destroyed the Temple in Jerusalem, the place where sacrifices were offered. The practice was briefly resumed during the Jewish War of 132-135 C.E., but was ended permanently after that war was lost. There were also a few communities that continued sacrifices for a while after that time. The Torah command sacrifice to be done at the temple, not just anywhere. Forgiveness is now obtained through repentance, prayer and tzedakah (charity or other good deeds). Hence the law of God remains written on Jews hearts, they must love their neighbour, repent and pray to God. They just don't accept the earthy form of God (Trinitarian view) or God's Son (Separate creation)

Many think the abomination that causes desolation was the Roman army. Mathew 24:15 appears to speak to Daniel 12:11-12 and tells the reader to use discernment or to 'understand'. If this was speaking to an army, particlarly the Roman army, there would be no need for caution in understanding.

I don't think the above has anything to do with churches or Popes or armies. I think the abomination is false religion represented by Islam. That is because the dome of the rock was built and is governed by Islam. What do you think about that comment?

Daniel did not reach the end of days, yet was told he would rest and then rise up for his alloted inheritance. This does not sound like rise to heaven and indeed he couldn't rise until Christ opened the gates and prepared a place. Also Daniel could not be blessed, and no one can be blessed as per Mathew, unless they are alive or resurrected to earth at the end of days. I'll stop here for now. Would you like to make a comment?

Recently I was surprised to find out that Islam was founded by the Papacy, and that the Papacy is a culmination of the abomination that makes desolate. That would be in harmony with the theme of Daniel - the battle between Christ and Satan as demonstrated in the religious and political affairs of the world, (hence this topic is subjected to swamping).
The abomination of desolation is the work of Satan to undermine truth and the persecution of the saints. So the Jewish leaders were also participants in it, by killing the prophets and God's Son. This was the beginning of darkness that would extend far in to the future. Islam denies the divinity of Christ so it too comes under the same umbrella.
The little horn is the power of Rome, and later on its defiance of heaven, is the religious aspect which came to fruition with the Papacy - commonly mistaken as the Christian Church. The torture and slaying of 60 million people is not Christian, and if it is I'm not a Christian.
It reigns in different manners until the end of time, one of which would be the different factions of false religion.

Re the 1290 days and the removal of the daily sacrifice, it has to be examined in the context of previous material in Daniel, even the same chapter which gives some of the clues. So whatever chapter 12 presents, ought to harmonize with, the vision of the metal image, the four beasts, the ram and the goat, and the little horn, and of course chapter 11 which is an angel's point of view of the world conflict, from Media Persia until the end.

It is plain from all previous visions, that Satan is behind the accumulation of populations and subsequent captivity through empires and systems of false religion.

Given Satan offered the world to Jesus if He did one act of worship to him, there is some substance behind suggesting Satan has rulership over the earth.

However, unless Satan is at war with himself or some insignificant army, then he must be at war with another mighty army. In my view, that would be Christainity. Those that call themselves theists that see themselves as better than the rest, eg sects, appear to be more satanic than Godly or Christ like.
