Islam - Truth or Lie

Post by Questfortruth »

It seems that I am having trouble. I don't know what is true anymore. The Bible and the Koran can't both be true. Christians say that the Bible is historically accurate, but Muslims say the same things about the Koran. The Muslim can point out contradictions in the Bible as we can with the Koran. Are the errors in the Koran truly errors, or are us Christians not using proper exegesis. I am a skeptic, so I don't know much about the Muslim religion. Are the dating methods to date the Bible and the Koran accurate? Carbon dating is a very flawed method of dating. How should I respond to sites such as answering-christianity.com?

It would be a blessing if they missed the cairns and got lost on the way back. Or if
the Thing on the ice got them tonight.

I could only turn and stare in horror at the chief surgeon.
Death by starvation is a terrible thing, Goodsir, continued Stanley.
And with that we went below to the flame-flickering Darkness of the lower deck
and to a cold almost the equal of the Dante-esque Ninth Circle Arctic Night

I am a person who is questioning the authenticity of the Christian doctrines. In the sense, you could say I was on the borderline between deism and Christianity. I have a bunch of questions regarding Muslim doctrines and the exegesis of the Muslim doctrines. In reference to the website, I just wanted to hear peoples' opinions on it because it's the website that got me asking these questions.

What do Muslims make of Jesus Christ, is He just another in a line of mortal prophets, or is He God that became a man?

Who do you think Christ is?

I think he was the messiah, but I can't be 100% certain. I know that there was a man named Jesus who died 1977 years ago. The question is whether he rose from the dead. If he did rise from the dead, what are the explanations for Mohammad's supposed revaluation? I wish I could have 100% certainty, but there is no possible way. There is just some reasonable doubt in my mind. Does this reasonable doubt mean anything?

Why would God need to become a human being and be punished for us?

We were ( and still are) sinful, so we needed to be redeemed.

Well there's your answer right there. Believe in the resurrection and all other religions are false. Don't believe in the resurrection and you have the pick of the litter. Be forewarned though, once you start researching the historicity of the resurrection you may have no choice but to abandon your uncertainty.
Let us proclaim the mystery of our faith: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.

Lord I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.

I sincerely hope Christianity is true. I have done so much bad in my life that I don't know how I could be forgiven in any works-based religion. The idea of an eternal hellfire scares me, and sometimes the worry and fear I face sometimes makes me wish I was never born. It sometimes gets so bad that I can't even enjoy a trip at Universal Studios. If the Christian doctrine was true and I was a Muslim, I am screwed. If Islam is true and I am a Christian, I am screwed. Do you see my dilemma here? Without knowledge of the truth, I can never know what my destination would be after I die. I just wish there was some magic button I could press to gain knowledge and to be sure of my safety. I've had nightmares about hell before. It sent me into a state of worry. If this is what hellfire is like in a dream, what would unimaginable hellfire be? My neck hurts and my chest hurts. Even if I get satisfaction now, My worry may appear later on in life. What does everybody suggest I do?

Then why are you here? Why do you come to a Christian Forum to ask questions about Islam? Would you go to a Ford dealer to get information on Toyota products?

Byblos found the answer in your question.

Also, did "the blessed Allah" sacrifice his own life for the world?

The God of the Bible, you can take His names in vain on national media as often as you like, but if you do that with the name of any other god, you will receive civil punishment, but God is the only one who has given all to the human race.
And if God is true, then there are no other gods.

Islam is a religion of peace, don't you know. We Christians are barbaric savages, crusades, inquistion etc.
