Again, you are correct...Jesus started his ministry when he was an adult....does that say something?PaulSacramento wrote:Well, If what Jesus did is the only example then no one should be baptizing anyone since He never did ( at least not with water).Domenic wrote:Well since Jesus is our example for all we do...I follow the baptism as his example shows.
In Jesus time, when he was on earth, the age of an adult for Jews was 30 years old. Jesus was baptized at the age when he was an adult. So I would follow that...be baptized at the age of adult hood for your country.
Jesus was baptized when it was time to start His ministry.
He was circumcised as per Jewish tradition.

I think it certainly implies that a person should only be actively preaching as an adult BUT we do have it on record that even as a child, Jesus "preached" in the Temple.Domenic wrote:Again, you are correct...Jesus started his ministry when he was an adult....does that say something?PaulSacramento wrote:Well, If what Jesus did is the only example then no one should be baptizing anyone since He never did ( at least not with water).Domenic wrote:Well since Jesus is our example for all we do...I follow the baptism as his example shows.

That said, while using the Son of God as an example of what we should do is usually a very good thing, we must never lose sight that He IS the Son Of God, the incarnate Word of God and we are not.
We should also never lose sight that, as Paul mentioned, not all people are teachers or preachers and that the HS gives out different gifts to different people.

I agree with your statment100%. I was given a story about serving father by an old friend who went to the grave some years ago.PaulSacramento wrote:I think it certainly implies that a person should only be actively preaching as an adult BUT we do have it on record that even as a child, Jesus "preached" in the Temple.Domenic wrote:Again, you are correct...Jesus started his ministry when he was an adult....does that say something?PaulSacramento wrote:Well, If what Jesus did is the only example then no one should be baptizing anyone since He never did ( at least not with water).Domenic wrote:Well since Jesus is our example for all we do...I follow the baptism as his example shows.

He pictured those serving God as an orchestra. The conductor is pointing his little stick at the brass who are blowing their heads off, and the strings whose arms are moving back, and forth with speed…back, and forth the for forty minutes. There is one little guy way up on top with two symbols. He has only one note at he very end. Back, and forth go the brass, and the strings. The poor fellow with the symbols is bored, and falls asleep. At the very end the conductor points his little stick to the top of the orchestra at the sleeping fellow with the symbols…nothing. Without that final BABOOOOOM…that one final note…the whole things falls apart. How important was the person who only had one note to play?
