Stay in your kitchen and make your husband a sandwich now, woman!

If they had a social gospel in the days of the prodigal son, somebody would have given him a bed and a sandwich and he never would have gone home.

The year is 1924 - 90 years ago - when aviation was new and sensible women stayed at home and made their husbands sandwiches and babies. Ms Gladys Ingle wasn't a sensible girl. In this video, you'll see Gladys climbing from the wing of one plane onto another plane, while both were flying, then fixing the landing gear on the disabled plane while her head was a short distance from the whirring propeller...

I wonder if she died at a ripe old age...

Wow! Thanks for that link, philip. I'll pass it on to the person who sent me the Flixx video on Gladys.

I fondly miss my own aviation days. For a period, I had an aerial photography business with a friend. Nothing like getting bad, hand-drawn map directions to a site (this was pre-GPS) while circling and burning fuel $$$s!

I hear you! I miss my aviation days as well. I have a friend with a C182 but flying second fiddle just isn't the same. Last November, I told my wife that I was considering the purchase of an airplane. I was surprised when she approved the idea, so I started pouring over ads in Trade-a-Plane looking for a nice C177...but reality soon set in. I could afford a used airplane but parking, maintenance, fuel, insurance, engine reserve and all the other little things just made the project ridiculously expensive...

And the Slovak flying car (deliveries in 2017) is tentatively priced at one-half million US dollars. Maybe I should "invest" in the lottery?! Or should I take up hang gliding?

FL, perhaps, you should lower your expectations for something a little more within your budget?

Or perhaps their "Cadillac" Version?

y:-? I've a better Idea!

At the end of my flight (I'm out of beer), I say to myself "Prepare for landing, please!" (takes out a B-B gun)

That's a beautiful picture! Balooning is one of the more expensive ways of flying but that flying beachchair looks very inexpensive and tempting...

Hey, that's a cool practical joke to play on someone who falls asleep by a swimming pool!
