But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.
-- 1 Thessalonians 5:21
For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

They surely disbelieve who say: Lo! Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary. The Messiah (himself) said: O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord. Lo! whoso ascribeth partners unto Allah, for him Allah hath forbidden paradise. His abode is the Fire. For evil-doers there will be no helpers.
It seems to me that to say that God is the Messiah is theologically incorrect.
Because according to Christianity God is the Father and the Son/Word and the Holy Spirit.
Even though the Word who is God incarnated Jesus of Nazareth, it was not the Father nor the Holy Spirit who incarnated Him.
Am I right?
Looks like your motivations are being questioned.
What an odd passage.
I'd be interested to know what Muslims make of it? Seems like "Allah" just replaced "Jesus".
How can they say God (Allah) is the son of Mary? I'd think that is like shirk.
The title is obviously applies to Jesus.
But, keep in mind what is true in one nature is true of the other.
Communicatio Idiomatum.
So it could be correct in Christian theology to say God is the Messiah.
It'd be akin perhaps to "Mary, mother of God" - theotokos.
"Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:13)

Re: Is God the Messiah?
God sent His son, Jesus Christ , to the earth, God incarnate , as the promised Messiah. So the 2nd person of the Godhead is the promised Messiah.
