(2014) Norman Geisler Responds to Ken Ham

Post by Philip »

"A Response to Ken Ham and Answers in Genesis on Does Inerrancy Require a Belief in a Young Earth?"

By Norman L. Geisler

http://www.normgeisler.com/articles/Bib ... %20AIG.pdf

BTW, Geisler once held to a Young Earth viewpoint. And, interestingly, he hopes the Young Earth view IS correct.

Further, he states that his purpose of writing this article is that "it is aimed answering the question of whether belief in inerrancy demands a Young earth View. My point was NOT to determine whether the earth is young or old. Nor was the point to deny a connection between belief in the historical grammatical method of interpretation and the doctrine of inerrancy."

Beat me to the punch. ;)

I've almost finished wrapping up my one long response in that other thread.
The next few posts I'll be posting the words of valid authorities who embrace the Historical-Grammatical method and allow for an old Earth.
Just, taking a break really. Kind of got a little bored, Christmas and other things on mind, but I'll finish my posts of soon.

I hadn't come across this writing of Geisler's. Good contribution.
It'll help me further crystallise some points. Thanks!
