Whoda thought john 3:16 was supposed to say:
16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him and doesn't take prescription drugs, shall not perish, but have eternal life.
John 5:24
24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

If they had a social gospel in the days of the prodigal son, somebody would have given him a bed and a sandwich and he never would have gone home.

I don't get how many believe this. I mean the bible has shown that medicine are from herbs were common and doctors has well. Just look at Luke. Someone once told my my epilepsy was a punishment. So I prayed to god and stopped taking it and I still had my epilepsy. I take my medicine for my epilepsy to this date

Physicians are referred to in such places as Job 13:4; 2 Chronicles 16:12; and Jeremiah 8:22. Employing the services of such physicians is not condemned. When Jeremiah wrote: "Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? Why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?" we can be sure that God was not drawing upon a figure that he regarded as sinful. It was not wrong to use balm. It was not wrong to employ the services of a physician.

If the use of medicine for the healing of the body was sinful, God would not use such a figure in a good sense as he does in Proverbs 17:22. "A cheerful heart is a good medicine. " Compare also Ezekiel 47:12 and Revelation 22:2.

Whoever told you your epilepsy was a punishment, should've gotten a punch in the face. And then tell him/her that the punch was punishment for being an idiot.

Poor biblical interpretation skills, or not reading the Bible and accepting the opinion of some charismatic teacher with poor biblical interpretation skills.

The Greek word pharmakia in the bible is related to witchcraft, conjuring, and sorcery. The context is important to note. Fro example, the prophetess at ancient Delphi used pharmakia to induce her prophecies. She did so, by inhaling vapor as well as a drug concoction of mild hallucinogen.

Hallucinogens and other mind altering substance are still used in various world religions today as well in Wiccan, Satanist, pagan groups. They use these to conjour, conduct witchcraft, and sorcery in this modern world.

That is what the bible is referring to by pharmakia - the use of mind bending drugs for sorcery arts. It does not forbid a doctors care. If it did, why was Luke the physician needed? Why would Paul write Timothy to use a little medicinal wine for Timothy's stomach aliment?

Context is very important in how a word is used in the bible.
