Uh-huh, we seem to have our wires crossed, sorry.

I will read Daniel and Revelations but let me finish Mark first. :)

And that, brothers and sisters, is the kind of foolishness you get people who insist on denying biblical theism. A good illustration of any as the length people will go to avoid acknowledging basic truths.

It matters not one whit whether or not we CAN change a suffering or disadvantaged person's circumstances permanently. God tells us we are to be compassionate, care about the poor, sick, wounded, hungry - not because they will necessarily change or their circumstances be anything more than temporarily alleviated, but because GOD wants us to have actions that reflect HIS heart, mind and attitude towards those in unfortunate situations. AND, perhaps, ministering to the real-world needs of such people might be used by GOD to change their hearts toward HIM. We aren't to first cynically evaluate whether or not our helping such people will truly and permanently change their situations before we show them mercy and help. Should the Good Samaritan have kept walking because he figured that the injured man would merely temporarily heal, but go right back to his tragic circumstances or a potentially wasted life? NO! God tells us what kind of heart, mind and actions we should exhibit, how we should respond, whenever and IF we can, and then we are to leave outcomes to HIM!

And, no, every time I buy a shirt made by some 3rd world poor's factory, I'm not to have great guilt over the fact that they are being paid poorly. What is my choice? If enough refuse to buy from such manufacturers, what will happen to those poor peoples' jobs? Is NO money for them a better thing? I wouldn't think so.

Agreed. Frankly, I believe this whole topic was intended as bait for Christians by Audie. Bait, like the live dogs that are used to fish for shark by various Asian nations...

If they had a social gospel in the days of the prodigal son, somebody would have given him a bed and a sandwich and he never would have gone home.

Are you saying there is something bad about sweatshops found within such cultures?

I was referring to the Jokes made about Chinese and Asians. I can understand disliking her because she is not Christian like you guys, but that's a little uncalled for; don't cha think?

Well, we can make them about Canadians then or us yanks or better yet the New England Patriots?

Whats wrong with a sense of humor?

I am sure the Chinese have doozies about western cultures too...

There is a really bad joke Clinton did back in the mid 1990's selling Nuke reactor parts to North Korea. Now, today on the news, the North Koreans successfully launched an ICBM underwater from a submarine and then there is the wondrous Iran nuke deal...

Yes, the joke maybe real soon on us so lighten up - really dark times are ahead Kenny... that is no joke.

Woah! Who said anything about disliking Audie? I think she's much loved here.

If I didn't know better (and I don't) I'd think you're a pom if you're that easily offended.

Kenny,

If you'd done your homework, and paid attention, you'd have seen that Audie jokes right along with us. It's what we do here. It's all friendly fun.

And we don't dislike Audie. We love Audie. All 49kg of fightin' Geisha!
