Welcome to the forum Nessa and evethough we can be passionate about our biblical views, don't be afraid to give your input because we can still learn from each other even if we differ on a few points. We are all still united in Christ.
Hebrews 12:2-3 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
2nd Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of this glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God,should shine unto them.
New Zealand is absolutely stunning! I went travelling in 2002, spent about 8 weeks in NZ, both islands. Spent a while in Tutakake (forgive spelling) near Whangerei. Absolutely, totally glorious! Loved it. The rivers, lakes, glaciers, scenery, and of course the sheep, make it a magical country. Oh, and the trout. Particularly liked the trout.
Anyway, welcome to the forum!

Is it me? I don't notice any accent here. Are we supposed to notice an accent in the written word?

Strange thing about New Zealand accent. My nephew is from northern Connecticut, and within 7 years of him moving to NZ, to my ear, his accent sounds like the typical New Zealander, But, at least for awhile, people there thought he was from Australia. Very weird how anyone could absorb an accent so quickly and radically. Course, Rick is from MA and I hear he's got the southern redneck sound down pretty good.

Yes. You could even say I'm bilingual. I speak English, and Redneck.

Of course, to competently and "eloquently" speak with an impeccable south Georgia/north Florida accent, all you really need to master is the proper and creative use of grunting, belching, farting, and inventively swearing with a southern-fried twang. But some masters of the dialect can't really communicate without someone else translating for them - usually another native RN.
My name is Ed, I'm American, and I'm new to these forums. I came across this site using a Firefox app called Stumble Upon - I suggest you avoid it, it will suck you in and eat all your time. Politically I tend to be socially liberal - by which I just mean that how I live my life is nobody's business but mine, and everyone else deserves to be afforded the same consideration - and fiscally conservative. Neither political party matches my views, so I'm an independent.
Just to be clear, I'm not religious, I'm not a seeker, and I'm not looking for answers. I have my own worldview and I'm comfortable with it. I'm just curious about some of the views that have been expressed on these boards, so I thought I'd join up and investigate a bit.
