Imagine for one moment, that your eyes detected radio waves instead of visible light waves. Most of the world would be transparent, including walls and each other. The ground we stand on would be like a giant glassy formation which we could see down for miles. And looking up in the sky you would see reflections of the earth below. This would be a strange world indeed. But it is the same world we are in now!
We are very limited in what we can sense in the world around us. This is not to say that what we see is an illusion, but in a sence it is. There is so much that we can only imagine of.
Here's another example. A well known one but for those who have never heard of this, it may shock you. Imagine a two dimentional world instead of the three dimentional world we live in now. If one of us encountered a world like this imagine what we could do. First we can see the world from a top down perspective. Second if there were two dimentional citizens in this world we would be able to lift them out of their world and return them somewhere else. To someone in this world it would be as if they dissapeared, or teleported, or even walk through walls! We also can reach inside them without breaking their skin.
It is not out of the realm of possibility that the world we inhabit is more than the three dimentions we are familiar with.

This is an open thread. Just musing here. Maybe this is in the wrong Forum?
The sea of glass mixed with fire? Look towards the center of the earth and the earth will be radiating with infrared waves. Perhaps this could be the fire.

You know how confusing it would be if we could see all the spectrums? I mean, just think of how horribly confusing things would be if you overlapped visible light, infrared, microwaves, radiowaves, radiation, and all of that-if you've ever seen different types of photos of objects-stick them on top of each other, it'd be insane. You may see it as a handicap that we can't-but I see it as the only way not to run into sensory overload all the time-especially since closing our eyes would not matter-and could one object really view all those different areas of the spectrum at once?

An atheist can't find God for the same reason a criminal can't find a police officer.
You need to start asking out girls so that you can get used to the rejections.

Why do I agree with this? I have thought about it too. Call me crazy, but I have seen "reality" split into cracks of a white backing. For example, I would just for a second look at a wall, while watching t.v., and I would see the wall quickly distort and I would see a crack that shows whiteness behind it. No joke! It happens in a split second though, maybe a brain glitch.BGoodForGoodSake wrote:Imagine for one moment, that your eyes detected radio waves instead of visible light waves.
