Body modifications
Just wondering what people's views are on body modifications? from the minor to the extreme.
Anything goes cos God looks at the heart?
oh and has anybody got any that are appropriate to share?
I use to have an eyebrow ring and chin stud. A famous NZ speaker with the gift of healing came here to Napier. Before he prayed for me, he saw my eyebrow ring and got out the bible and quoted leviticus I think. He wasnt impressed and told me to get rid of it.

Re: Body modifications
I'll try to refrain from making this about my views on people who claim to have the gift of healing .Nessa wrote:Just wondering what people's views are on body modifications? from the minor to the extreme.

And instead, I'll just say that body piercings are between the person getting pierced, and God. Sometimes it's a cultural thing.
And Nessa, I hope you weren't bullied by that self-righteous false healer.
Sorry, I said I'd try to refrain...

Re: Body modifications
Hey, Rick, mine bothered me, too, at first.
But am currently taking a break in wonderful silence - the whole wrecking crew flew up to New England for 11 days. It's just me, the dog, cat, parrot and parakeets, and the woods. I am now TRULY the master of the house, if only for a bit!

Re: Body modifications
I'm sorry. I misunderstood your original post. I thought you were asking our views, biblically speaking, about body modifications. Then I reread your op. And you just asked our views.Nessa wrote:Well, the speaker did give me some great advice about my dad and writing him a letter so I will give him credit for that....

What about skin implants and tattoos?
Body implants-ridiculous
Tattoos-some beautiful. Some not.
I don't have any of either. Never had the desire to get any tattoos. Just isn't my cup of tea.

Re: Body modifications
I always wanted to ask - why does one want to pierce themselves to begin with?
Cultural reasons for beauty? but in the western world is it really for beauty?
Just don't know...

Alrighty then!
Biblically, it's between the person and God. Or, up to the person's conscience.

I think for some people, body modification is a personal.statement...
an image they want to be seen by.....they are communicating something about themselves to the world. Though sometimes by striving to become 'indivdiuals' we often just become more alike..

Re: Body modifications
More like, NEXT TO NONE, beautiful, a tiny percentage are kind of neat. But, who wants what "work of art" you bought when you were 20, still hanging on your wall, in the same place, FOREVER?!!! Your tastes change, over time, so you better really like your inking. And a whole bunch of people impulsively get tattoos when they are buzzed. Why not get temporary ones that you can change as you like or if you get bored with the old one?Tattoos-some beautiful. Some not.

Re: Body modifications
Agreed. People can get them if they like I guess but it's not my thing. I really don't like the more extreme modifications - but then at least I don't have to get them myself.Philip wrote:More like, NEXT TO NONE, beautiful, a tiny percentage are kind of neat.
