I like to think I would be bold enough to die for my faith in Christ and I think I would if it came down to it.However I really don't know that we can say for sure whatwe would do.If we go back to say the Christians that were burned at the stake for translating the bible into English as they were being led out before the crowd of onlookers to be burned some were strong in faith, singing praises to Jesus as they were being led out, while others were very scared and were crying.I like to think that I'd be one of the ones singing praises to Jesus as I'm set on fire.
Hebrews 12:2-3 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

2nd Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of this glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God,should shine unto them.

It appears, that to deny Christ is to deny Christ, whether you deny by lips or by heart, you do end up denying him. The path to recovery is between God and man and the church. The apostles and the early church martyrs did not deny Christ temporarily to save their own skin.

Now after saying that, I do know Christians who are Muslims to the outside world but are secretly christians. Declaring their faith outloud is certain death. And I see that too.
Doesn't that mean that since God knows what is in one's heart, what they say, really doesn't matter...especially if it will save lives?

It seems to be the case. I don't know, its too confusing.
It would be a blessing if they missed the cairns and got lost on the way back. Or if
the Thing on the ice got them tonight.

Death by starvation is a terrible thing, Goodsir, continued Stanley.
And with that we went below to the flame-flickering Darkness of the lower deck
and to a cold almost the equal of the Dante-esque Ninth Circle Arctic Night
without.
