Pretty much everything that you've said about the OT is equally true of Sharia. The main difference is that you love one and fear the other.
Also, you're painting with far too broad a brush. There are billions of Christians and millions of Jews and they interpret the OT in a wide variety of ways. There are also millions of atheists whose knowledge of and opinions about the OT vary widely.

Re: Greatest Threat to Australia, Europe, and America
So due to religious ideology and prophetic interpretation you believe that Muslims are evil by way of their religious beliefs who will taint society with their evil ways to bring about the rise of the anti-christ. This is your justification for being suspicious of all Muslims to the extreme of not wanting them to enter your country even if they are being persecuted and in need of genuine help, like with the Syrian refugees. You are using religious ideology to blanket an entire group of people as evil, outside of humanity-not deserving of generosity or concern for their welfare.abelcainsbrother wrote:I just do not see it like some of you do.And let me make it clear I am not being heartless or cruel to the refugees. I am against what muslims do and have been doing and that is use the freedoms in the west against itself to bring Sharia Law to our country and convert the world to Islam. This is the goal of what you call moderate muslims they use silent jihad to take over,it is the radical terrorists who use violent jihad.I have known about this for years and have been warning about it coming to the west and it is.Also even the moderate muslims in the middle east desire Sharia Law and want Israel wiped off the map.
I just do not see it like some of you do but I'm looking at this from a bible prophecy perspective and this is why this is setting us up to go through the tribulation oneday.By the time the rapture happens the trap will be set and the Islamic anti-christ will be revealed and every muslim will believe the anti-christ is the Majde who has come to convert the world to Islam and they will be all for it and in place in the west.
Then you say that Muslims are using their religious beliefs to spread radicalism, intolerance to any one that does believe as they do.
Do you see the irony here?
Religious fervour and radicalism that produces a them against us mentality, that uses fear and suspicion to create hate. That cites prophetic end of times reasoning to dehumanise others as evil.
Yes, some Muslims have interpreted their faith to mean something that majority do not. It is wrong and it is dangerous and it is easy for me see how this occurs and how easy it is for people to run away with their ideas regardless of rationality or differing interpretations or understanding because I see it occurring right under my nose.

Mel,
I don't want to speak for ACB, but I don't see him calling Muslims evil. It seems to me like he's calling the religion evil.
Do you disagree that Islam is evil?

Re: Greatest Threat to Australia, Europe, and America
Rick Abel has said enough in my opinion to warrant that surmise on my part.
He is of course entitled to that opinion as I am entitled to the opinion that he is wrong.
I like Abel. He seems like a great guy. A bit stubborn maybe and passionate but who I am I to begrudge him for that
I could go over many a post of Abels and quote him to highlight my point. The way in which we use language and our choice of words are very telling but I have already don't that earlier in this thread and to be honest I can't be bothered. But to sum up what had been said, Muslims should not be allowed to enter the U.S, refugees should not be allowed asylum based solely on their religion, they are operating under a silent Jihad, with an ulterior motive to move to west to secretly infiltrate society to bring in Sharia Law. It's what Muslims do, not some Muslims but all of them because they setting up the scene for the antichrist. The violent Muslims are using violent jihad whilst the rest are using their silent plan. Can we believe what we see on TV? Are they really refugees? They are pretending to be in need to infiltrate and conquer.
I could go on and on.........
But no their not evil, just silent jihadists , refugee imposters, seeking to infiltrate the west so that they can usher in the antichrist. But other than that pretty nice people
Abel didn't start this thread BW did. He is not alone in this thinking, not by a long shot. I am not speaking about this board but some of the most disgusting things I have read in regards to Muslims has been by Christians. It's such a shame. It both angers and saddens me.
All I can do is teach my children differently and express wherever possible that those voices do not speak for me, for the Christ I follow or Christianity as a whole. I don't care whether majority disagrees with me, because with every inch of my faith I believe they are wrong.
As for your other question "do I think Islam is evil"
To be honest I think any religion that goes against the fundamental teachings of Jesus is a tool to pull people away from God. At times some Christian beliefs fall under that category.
I think that any form of fundamentalism that dehumanises anybody is evil.
I think that the Isis gunman shooting non Muslims is evil, as is the same gunman shooting Muslims.
I think that the Isareli soldiers shooting children for throwing rocks in the back as they run away are caught up in evil.
I think Mulsims calling for the death and hatred of westerners is evil.
I think that westerners calling for the death, deportation and hatred of Muslims is evil. And yes, I have seen countless posts on social media calling for such. Things to the like of the only good Muslim is a dead Muslim. These types of posts are getting hundreds of thousands of likes and shares.
Whilst I in no way justify hatred, the in depth reading and study I have invested into this has allowed me to see how and why these feelings towards the west have come about. We are not innocent.
We are being pitted against each other, like a couple of pit bulls being prodded before being let loose in the ring.
The crazy thing is both sides think God is on their side. He's not.
Evil is smiling like a Cheshire Cat, as this hatred sweeps over both sides.

But is Islam evil, Yes or no?
The religion started by a man who supposedly had a vision by an Angel.
It's not a difficult question to answer. Is Islam evil?
I'm not asking if Muslims are evil. I'm asking about the RELIGION.

I can understand why you'd be upset with Christians that hate Muslims. It's not right.
We need to love them enough to tell them the truth about their religion. And as you said you have Muslim friends, I can understand how difficult that can be. On one hand, we don't want to offend our friends. And on the other hand if we see our friend playing on the highway, with cars whizzing by, we want to tell them that they're in danger.
Have you ever witnessed to a Muslim? I'm curious, because I don't know any, personally.

Witnessing to adherents of different religions has always seemed incredibly obnoxious to me. Wouldn't it piss you off if a Muslim were to approach you and say "Look, I know you're a Christian but Christianity is false, wrong, and evil. You should stop worshiping your false, evil, liar god and come over to Islam, the one true religion."

I can understand why you'd think it's obnoxious for Christians to witness to others. First, and foremost, 1 Corinthians 1:18 says:
For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
And second, Christians are not immune to mistakes. And many Christians don't witness to others in love.
And no, it wouldn't piss me off if a Muslim or anyone else opened up with words like that. I'd take it as they brought up the subject, so he/she wants to talk about it. I'd have no problem with that.
If someone believes their way to God is the only way, and they don't tell anyone, then there's a problem with that. But, I agree, people can be obnoxious in the way they talk about their beliefs.

Fair enough. I bet you'd be an entertaining guy to have a beer with.
What if they believe that religion is a false path leading nowhere because there are no gods and never have been? Should they spread that message as well?RickD wrote:If someone believes their way to God is the only way, and they don't tell anyone, then there's a problem with that.

Re: Greatest Threat to Australia, Europe, and America
I don't see the purpose. Let's use this example. I say that God made the way for anyone who chooses to believe that His way is the only way to Him. And, trusting in Christ is the only way that God gave, for mankind to be reconciled to Him. If that's the only way, then I'm trying to tell people that they will be in God's eternal presence, if they trust in what Christ did.edwardmurphy wrote:Fair enough. I believe people's eternal life is at stake.
But for the person who believes there is no God, for that person to go around preaching that message, it's meaningless, if that message is true. What's the point, if we all die, and just go into oblivion? That person who believes there is no God, is just better off enjoying his own short life. Instead of wasting precious time, arguing something meaningless.
Either God's way, through faith in Christ is the only way, to God, or it's absolute foolishness. And the consequences of which, are infinitely important. There's nothing else, no other choice in our lives that even comes close to the importance of one's eternal destiny.

I am not sure what it will take people to see that evil plays on the goodness of good intentions to destroy goodness.
Questions: Muslim Countries should take in these folks from Syria. They are rich and can do so with ease. Not the case. This happened before and is a tactic designed to infiltrate and eventually take other a country after generation or two goes by.
Next why all the men and very few women among the refugees?
Islam is about world dominion - it teaches it. Don't be fooled, it is not a peaceful and the moderate will turn on you once Islam is the law of the land.
When my dad's generation, the WW2, generation grew too old to influence culture and stand against evil, the USA and other countries have sledded down a dangerous path of PC and the inability to tell right from wrong, or make a stand, or defend against evil. In fact, they protected us for as long as they could but those that do not recall their influence (their grand and great and great-great grand children) on morality and stands against evil have taken the sad tragic road toward tyranny.
The world is a mess because of progressive liberalism neo marxism that continues to play on the goodness of good intentions in order to destroy goodness by elevating depravity and stupidity as the new moral standards of superiority.

BW you asked the question "why all the men and very few woman amoung the refugees"
Now a reoccuring theme that keeps being put forward is that we and by we I mean anyone that believes Syrian refugees are not seeking asylum to bring about an evil agenda are ignorant, need to read some more, just don't know the facts ect.
When someone takes an intellectual high ground on the issue it is vitally important that know what they are talking about in the way of facts.
I have read this same statement being made by Republican presidential candidates and on conservative social media.
I can not stress this enough, just because you read something does NOT make it so.
Now I understand why it is believed when such is being pushed by ignorant leaders but it is dishonest albeit not intentional.
You can not play the ignorant card in regards to others when your own argument is plagued with error.
Majority of Syrian refugees are female although not by much 50.3%
Over 50%, 51.1% to be precise are under the age of 17, making majority of the refugees children.
I am going to repeat that, majority are CHIlDREN!!
38.5% are under the age of 12.
http://data.unhcr.org/syrianrefugees/regional.php
Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
But they are not entitled to completely misrepresent the facts. I know it's not done deliberate but when going on so much about others doing their homework I think that same advice needs to be taken by oneself.
Besides that, its just important to represent truth.
In not doing so it is pushing disinformation and propaganda.
Which is something that this board should certainly not be about.
This is not a political playground where left or right wing propaganda is pushed devoid of facts. This is a Christian board and it's important to represent truth.
