Media manufactured controversy or a big deal? You know that liberal media now are focused on him. Also, Trump probably has an army of paid hacks digging for dirt. We'll see.

Watch this, and tell me that the media isn't liberally biased.

Re: Dr. Ben Carson's Creation Views
Hillary has been a shoo-in for the nomination for years. Attacking her is logical because she's almost definitely going to be the Democratic candidate. The Republican field is different. Somebody unexpected is usually doing surprisingly well in the Republican polls before the primaries kick off - Santorm, Bachman, Cain, Trump, Carson, and so forth - but when things start to get real the mainstream voters come out and the vanity candidates fall by the wayside. The media, who all seem to think "context" is a dirty word, tend to overlook that fact, but it's still a fact and I assume Democratic strategists are aware of it.RickD wrote:Probably for the same reasons why FOX is still going after Hillary.
The right sees her as a real threat to a republican getting elected. The left sees Carson as a threat, probably the biggest threat to Hillary getting elected. I think Trump is going to "dig his own grave" so to speak.
FOX is right leaning? Leaning? That entire news network is dedicated heart and soul to 24/7/365 conservative activism. There's nothing on the other end of the spectrum even similar to FOX.RickD wrote:I think you're terribly naive, if you don't think mainstream media is left leaning, with the exception of FOX, which is right leaning.
Or if you prefer, mainstream media is Dem. leaning, with the exception of FOX, which is Rep. leaning.
As far as the rest of the media goes, I don't really see it. The mainstream media is pretty mainstream in their reporting. If there's a significant bias it's away from substance and toward infotainment.

According to this article at The Washington Post, yes, FOX is conservative leaning.

Re: Dr. Ben Carson's Creation Views
Well, one thing that did put me a little off him was his creation theology.Philip wrote:Interesting! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... ecies.html
Sounds as if his views on Creationism have - wait for it - evolved.
There's a lot about this chap I like!
Not just that, but it seemed like Carson had ideas and vision this and vision that, and they were rather set.
Left me we a feeling like it'd be like your Obama dictatorship, only it's the Republican's turn under Carson with a completely different ideology.
But... that article shows so much more to him as both a person and leader I think.
He's shown that he's willing to listen to other positions, weigh up evidence and reason, be moved to re-examination and likely change and grow. Maybe he would be the people's president? Rather than be your typical dogmatic president.

Re: Dr. Ben Carson's Creation Views
I like Ben, I think he's nice, even though I haven't met him. Which I think says a lot, considering the media will go fully out of there way to destroy the identity of conservatives, particularly black conservatives. If I can still see a man through the haze of smear, then that man's aura must be very bright indeed.
Basically, if the media elites hate him, I like him.
