K, you're right. Christians in general, relate more to what the Republican Party brings to the table.

But not always.

And those who profess to be Christians, usually run as republicans.

Actually Mel, all I was saying in this verse, was only used to bolster your "politics" diatribe which i agree with,
Mel wrote:
Christians think they have an influence in politics within their country and within worldwide dealings. They don't.

It is a historical platform that is rife with influence, political campaigns that are backed by oil moguls, weapons dealers and those that benefit significantly economically from who ever is in power.

It's a poltical game to keep you voting.
and, as i said,
When this first happens, the Millennial Kingdom, it will be the first time political authority will be wrestled from human hands, and, albeit for only a short while, the first time man will know freedom through policy.
No human political regime can ever meet the perfection that will be ours in the 1000 year reign of Christ . Except for the fact that the reign of His Millenial Kingdom happens post tribulation, (because that's where you find the reference to human politics), there was nothing prophetic about the statement. Simply biblical support for your thoughts on politics
ES I'm so sorry.

I'm not quite sure what I was thinking, it is obvious what you were saying.
Actually truth be told I took 'keep Jesus out of your party' to a whole other level.
Quite literally.
A friend of mine popped over last night as it was her birthday. She wasn't over for very long but she brought over a bottle wine and we had a couple of glasses. Then my hubby came home from touch footy and they won their first game, they have been getting flogged every week. So he grabbed some beer to celebrate and brought me home some wine. Had a glass with him, then he went to bed. I should have done the same. I jumped on here and was fine, until I had a couple more and responded to your post. Then babbled some ridiculous nonsense.
Forgive me y>:D<
I feel silly and I have a headache.

That is not the problem, there is no private interpretation of the bible for example God created Adam and Eve,every Christian or person who has read the bible knows this, even if they are'nt a Christian, they know what the bible says.
Hebrews 12:2-3 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

2nd Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of this glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God,should shine unto them.

How many Christian denominations are there scattered around the world? Hundreds, anyway. They're all based on the Bible, so presumably they've read it. So...

Just coming in off this point...

Well, no, they're not really all based on the Bible.
In fact, I'm not sure it is right to say any form of Christianity is based upon the Bible,
although certainly such is considered an important source to many Christians.

Hmm... how can I illustrate what I'm getting at? y:-?
Perhaps our birth date is based upon our birth certificate. It's like, ok, such can be an important source to verify our birth date, but such isn't responsible for our actual birth date.
Or perhaps something like... all science is based upon scientific books. Yes, books can be important sources of scientific thinking, but such are ultimately derived from actual science and not really the other way around.

So too, Scripture is considered an important source, because well, Christianity is a Jewish sect if-you-will which endorses the God of Abraham as the one true God. Therefore, the Tanakh becomes an important source. And then we have Christ Himself, the bringer and revealer of the New Covenant, with his own teachings and the like.

Therefore Christ is the true basis of all Christianity. So then, we have followers of Christ writing the Gospels and Paul with his epistles, and these writings gained authority for their authenticity in who they came from and as such valued amongst early Christendom as authoritative sources to Christ himself. So, we have an early tradition of Christians authenticating certain books of Scripture, and such Scripture becoming adopted as an authoritative source within Christianity, not foregoing other valuable sources within Christian theology such as experience and reason...

But, in any case... it just isn't as simple as saying all Christian denominations are based upon the Bible.
