I've now lived long enough to have experienced many of the sea changes in American social, political and religious corners of our society and have absolutely concluded our "national" appeal to God is no longer, and our destiny as a nation, once, IMO, guided by the proper hand of a biblically inspired way of life was the salt and glue that stabilized our nation from corner to corner, sea to shining sea.... that is no longer. We were never a Theocracy ... we just lived like we loved God.

Nope, no difference whatsoever between "stop practicing religion wrong or we'll burn you alive" and "move that statue to private property or we'll sue you."

Christians do not practice that. Haven't you heard the middle ages, Renaissance, and age of Reason have ended how many years ago 330 -500?

Christians serve a God who corrects and chastises his own for bringing reproach to his name and character and he corrects things. Christians do not burn people at the stake. When was the last you witnessed a burning at the stake by Christians?

You forget, ISIS burns Christians at the stake and chops off heads. Eddy you need to post you dribble on Islamic sites but I doubt you are brave enough...

You really need to realize it is better to live in country where Christianity holds civil society together by Grace rather than one that demands submission to allah or the State, or the FFRP, ACLU...

Your argument is based on pure illogical fear that Christians desire to govern by a theocracy which is not the case.

Admit it Eddy - you know nothing about what Christians or what Christianity is really about do you?

"Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over... but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm." John 18:36 NASB

"You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men. 14 "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; 15 nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven," Mat 5:13-16, NASB

"...for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit," Rom 14:17

"Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit," Rom 15:13 NASB

Col 1:12-14...

Eddy your argument to fight Christianity is based upon pure delusional thinking...

Please Eddy that is highly insulting of you to accuse Christians in America today burning people alive at the stake - wow delusional thinking for sure on your part proved beyond all reasonable doubt.

...but the ACLU or FFRF move that statue to private property or we'll sue you and more is a, now, reality...

Have a nice day

Dude, I have no problem with you arguing with the voices in your head, but I wish that you'd stop attributing their comments to me.

Ed I qualified my statement with... if they get their way...

You are the one who offered no qualifying statement and therefore must prove that Christians in modern day America burn people at the stake...

However, it can be proved that the right to the free exercise thereof is under attack by your side based upon illogical fear that Christians will build some sort of theocracy in the USA and oh my, have people face morality of their choices! How evil!

So why does the ACLU and FFRF go after Christian organizations under a pretext of law that was unheard of from the founding of this country till around the late 1950's when such laws were made?

Eddy, You know knowing of Christianity and such fear of Christians taking over the country is illogical and delusional and such illogical and delusional reasoning has historically lead to the extermination of peoples throughout history such as the Jews in WW2, the Communist Marxist regimes from the 1920's to current date, The slaughter of Christians in the middle east today, the slaughter of the innocent unborn under the guise of choice, the Armenian massacres of 1915-17. I suggest you actual do work for your self and research the laws that were passed prior before these atrocities were committed and you will understand why I qualified my statement with ... if they get their way.

You desire and FFRP desire for us to shut up and let it the hate fomented by such groups fester in the general population. Ed, their are consequences unforeseen used by hate Christian groups hiding behind laws and demanding the Christian shut up and submit and cease to exist. You even admitted you would not mind if Christianity ceases to exist.

There are consequences to such collectivist thoughts as this that history has proved to become far worse than an European-politically motivated inquisition that used Roman Catholicism to take land away from people and murder political opponents. That was not Christianity ED that was a political move hijacking the RC to do its dirty wor for the King and Queen of Spain.

When laws are passed and from these laws harassment ensues against a people to justify discrimination against these people - there is problem.

You do not know anything about Christianity except delusional thinking based on illogical fear and propaganda...

In fact Eddy, to be banned then lie to get back on the forum without notifying us speaks volumes about your personal character. All you had to do is notify us you wanted back on and it would have have happened. We discovered who you were and let you continue your postings. That demonstrates our character of God's grace because we actually love you with the love of God, Ed, despite you having no love or respect for Christians and Christianity unless they allow themselves to cease to exist.

Have a good day and God bless you with forgiveness to be released from this fear so you will find Him, Jesus, in Jesus name - Amen!

B. W.,

I think you'll love this one:
http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2015/11 ... cy-change/

I think I'm starting to see that atheists(some) will go to any means available, to get rid of God.

Not to mention that their biblical comprehension is horrible. From the article:
Gaylor continued, "The Bible calls for killing nonbelievers, apostates, gays, 'stubborn sons,' and women who transgress biblical double standards. What's obnoxious in a private hotel, however, becomes inappropriate and unconstitutional in state-run lodgings."
Underlined emphasis mine*

The bible doesn't call for any of that! God called for certain punishments in the nation of Israel, at a certain time.

Saying the bible calls for killing nonbelievers, gays, etc., is taking the biblical text out of context, to intentionally malign something they don't even understand.

Let's see if Edwardmurphy can call it both ways.

Well Ed?...
John 5:24
24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

“A nation of sheep will beget a government of wolves.”

Pray if you feel like praying, but there's no need to be arrogant and obnoxious about it.

I'm pretty sure the OT calls for all of those things. Whether or not the OT still counts seems to be up for debate among Christians. My impression is that there's a lot of convenient cherry picking and equally convenient overlooking going on, but I don't know enough to weigh in or care enough to dig any deeper.

This Bibles in dorm rooms thing is a matter of complete indifference to me.

Im interested to know why you prayed for Edward like this, B.W?

I mean pray all you want in private or without him seeing but doing it here on the board isnt the best place, in my opinion. It is kind of insulting doing it this way. I dont think it's actually loving or respectful. I guess I just see where he's coming from

The OT CALLED not CALLS. Past tense. Anyone can see that.
