I have to be honest, which I'm sorry comes across kinda like a sledge hammer most of the time.
I don't doubt that your mother has had the experiences you claim.
As has yourself.
But I absolutely, unequivocally am sure that it is a deception.
I don't say that as a skeptic but as someone who has had experiences. One of which I have shared on here.
They are real, most people will think you're nuts I know you're not. But they are not as they appear.

Hello Everyone,

I'm in Mongolia. Age 36 and trust in GOD 14 years ago. I remember that night when I was 17 y.o boy (as remember this was winter time). One night, i just went out from my home then looked to sky, asked from GOD "I do not know how to pray to You, but I do not believe things what my parents put in my home then called them as a gods". "If you are real one, please hear me., show me who you are...".
In 2002, I had chance to visit in home of one teacher who taught English language for Mongolian student. That time, I did not know she was missioner and just visited to her home with my colleague. Many ladies are sitting there, they just talked much things & nothing I understood. They just did language lesson. After class, the lady sat near me, then she asked from me "Do you want to believe in Jesus?" I had no doubt, answered "yes". Then she prayed, I just say following what she said however i did not what she said.. this is a story how I trust in GOD.
To me, GOD is everything, I don't know any streams & differences between beliefs. To me those are not points, ever. Day by day, year by year, I feel inside me that I am too close to GOD by my everything. In last February 2014, I've heard the voice of God Jesus. He told me some words just inside from me. He asked me question. .. in my native language. His voice is holy & holy & humble. I never ever heard in my life this kind of voice before.
In last Sep, I received gift from GOD "pray in tongue". Night before that morning, I felt such a beautiful thing inside me because something boiling in me. Then next morning early I pray around 4 am, the tongue just came in I just start praying. Whole day I've checked my gift...
I was not a baptized by water. But one day i'll do. I can not say I am a clear. I'm a sinner. Everyday I prayed to GOD for my family and kids.
...The missioner lady gave me the Holy Bible in 2002, sometimes I read my Bible but I never complete all of them. One day I've decided to read all books of Bible then start reading the Holy book (Jan/16/2014-Sep/07/2015). Just a Wonderful & Amazing. If I had chance to share truth of GOD to someone, I've just told them no matter who are they. I will not afraid because I know GOD is always with me.

"Psalm 90:10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away."
So when I alive, I'll use all my chances to pray GOD.

I can say one thing to you guys "Pray without ceasing". If you know how to pray & how to follow GOD by all your truths, GOD is always be with you. You can receive answers for all your prays from GOD.

OK...I've looked at the two links you provided. Brendan's adventures is a personal travel journal. Very interesting! Which town do you live near? I'd like to find that town on GoogleEarth...I'm just curious.
