Well, the battle we mostly see is evil vs. good / God's morality/His ways. But not here - which is evil vs. evil - just differing shades of it!

Evil + Evil = more evil / Evil vs Evil = greater evil.
Evil doesn't really fight itself, any more than good works against itself.
Of course, this assumes that good and evil are more than simply social constructs à la kenny.
