Don't Jews need Jesus???!!!
Documents on Muslims, etc., to follow?
The most interesting thing about the article you linked to was about the Roman Catholic Church recognizing that God has not revoked His Covenant to Israel. If this is true and not some editorializing on the part of the writer of the news article, it represents a major shift. Indeed, it doesn't make much sense. Something smells...Philip wrote:

The RCC has never been an evangelizing force towards Jews. Rather, the RCC has been openly hostile towards Jews thoughout its history. C'mon, gimme a break...Philip wrote:Don't Jews need Jesus???!!!
In its Catholicism of the Catholic Church, the RCC recognizes Islam as being an Abrahamic religion, serving the same God as Judaism and Christianity. In the light of this, do you really think the RCC has an accurate idea about who God really is?Philip wrote:Documents on Muslims, etc., to follow?
"In a DIFFERENT Manner...""The Church is therefore obliged to view evangelization (spreading Christianity) to Jews, who believe in the one God, in a different manner from that to people of other religions and world views," it said.

The links you provided don't work. In any event, the Vatican doesn't have any credibility when it comes to evangelizing Jews.PaulSacramento wrote:"and SPECIFIC institutional mission..."
On that we can ALL agree, LOL !Furstentum Liechtenstein wrote:PaulSacramento wrote:"In a DIFFERENT Manner..."The links you provided don't work. In any event, the Vatican doesn't have any credibility when it comes to evangelizing Jews.PaulSacramento wrote:"and SPECIFIC institutional mission..."
Baloney. The best the Vatican can do is to simply ignore Jews and Israel. The Roman Catholic Church is an historically anti-semitic institution. In modern times, their anti-semitism has been toned down to anti-zionism, which is equally reprehensible and goes against the clear message of the Bible.theophilus wrote:The headline of the articles says, "Vatican says Catholics should not try to convert Jews, should fight anti-semitism." Failure to share the gospel with Jews is the worst kind of anti-semitism there is.
Messianic Jews are the ones best qualified for face-to-face evangelism but not every Jew has the opportunity to talk of one. Any Christian who has the opportunity to evangelize a Jew must take advantage of it.Furstentum Liechtenstein wrote:However, individual Roman Catholics may evangelize Jews by proxy, by donating time or money to Jewish evangelism. However, the actual face-to-face evangelism is best done by Messianic Jews, period.
That red highlighted part is exactly what Pauline scholar and messianic Jew (living in Israel)Joseph Shulam believes. His specific comments on this are at the 56:00 mark. The rest of his lecture is worth watching also.Furstentum Liechtenstein wrote:Baloney. The best the Vatican can do is to simply ignore Jews and Israel.
