Do you understand the difference in harnessed energy vs. Unharnessed energy?

That's Audie. Sometimes she just likes to take her ball and go home.zacchaeus wrote:Okay ??? That was weird, hostile, and ended faster than any proposed big bang... What just happened?

Or maybe she just wants to be understood and have someone walk home with her and talk.RickD wrote:That's Audie. Sometimes she just likes to take her ball and go home.zacchaeus wrote:Okay ??? That was weird, hostile, and ended faster than any proposed big bang... What just happened?

Yeah and I'm just trying to play catch but she refuses to throw the ball back... I thought this was a scrimmage not a real game. First Ed now her.
Re: Atheists: Does anything attract you to Christianity?
Didn't even get to ask if matter mattered, can it create itself or if she could? I was only asking my questions in regards to the context of our convos...

I'm an evangelist... Nobody said it was a game. Laughter is part of life. An admin started the metaphor my friend, I rolled with it. Not quite sure where I've been unloving or ungraceful??? You??? Rick???

my comment was not just to you, and I was just trying to say that a little understanding goes a long way. Not just assuming someone is not playing nice/fair if thats what you were implying?.
I see alot of atheists get treated really well on here but there are other times I just feel like trying to see things from their point of view can help, instead of just our own

Zacchaeus,
You did nothing wrong. Nothing wrong with trying to discuss things. This is a discussion board after all.
Trying to understand another's point of view should be the goal here, shouldn't it? And how can we do that if we're shut off?

Re: Atheists: Does anything attract you to Christianity?
I can't speak for Audie, but I'm not interested in entertaining your line of questioning because it's just a bunch of hyperbole aimed at eliciting an emotional response. Besides that, you don't seem to understand atheism.zacchaeus wrote:Yeah and I'm just trying to play catch but she refuses to throw the ball back... I thought this was a scrimmage not a real game. First Ed now her.
For example, what would I do at the bedside of my dying child if I don't believe in god? First off, as a father of a baby and a toddler I'd be sorely tempted to break your jaw if you were to ask me that in person. It's beyond obnoxious. Here, as Horator once said, it was tough to keep it g-rated so I just withheld comment. Second, as horrible as that situation would be, it's not a reason to believe that your god exists. You're trying to frighten me and then offer a solution to ease my fear. If that's the kind of tactic you use to steer people toward your god you should really shut your pie hole and stop evangelizing. You're doing more harm to your cause than good. You're positioning yourself as a representative of your faith, and frankly, you're making it look pathetic.
Is that a sufficiently clear explanation for my disinclination to engage with you?
Regarding other questions and comments from other people, they're good questions and I'll get to them when I have a bit more time. I haven't bowed out of the conversation, I'm just busy.

Re: Atheists: Does anything attract you to Christianity?
No you didnt get a chance to go off into the cosmos, because I saw what you were doing. The topic such as it was had nothing to do with matter creating itself. And Im not wading off into that swamp in any case.zacchaeus wrote:Didn't even get to ask if matter mattered, can it create itself or if she could? Yes but if no hope then what meaning, if any do you find in life... Death would be bliss and life cruel and unusual. You can only decide to feel what you feel based off of preprograming- your wired that way, but why?
What lady could possibly resist such a charming invitation to discuss things close to her heart?
The "no hope, no meaning, death bliss, life cruel, only decide, programming", has nothing to do with me.
Its is your thoughts, however you project them.
Then this..
Wait so your saying you make yourself have a choice in whether or not you can choose to feel a certain emotion based off of your own power and energy to do so?
And I'm not speaking of myself friend, I'm asking you questions and your dancing around them.
That is not remotely what I stated or implied in any way. Its you doing both sides of a "conversation". That is not playing catch. Im not going to defend myself against things you make up.
And-
I am not your "friend".
I dont dance for you or anyone. I dont evade or dodge. Im simply not going to indulge you as a sap for
whatever you are trying to do. You obviously are not trying to understand what I said.
And yes RD, sometimes I do take my ball and go home. Leave out the word "just", tho. I dont "just" do things.
Re: Atheists: Does anything attract you to Christianity?
Yes, but your mistaking thinking I was even alluding to 'our God' but to 'a god' which with science today and vast amount of technology and research, I find it rather odd for one to be ignorant of a creator... I understand atheism find, maybe not your individual adopted beliefs... But the claim of 'no creator' or 'god' isn't absolute, nor an intelligent belief of fact; one would have to have obtained ALL knowledge of the universe and beyond to propose such a belief, which 1) takes more faith 2) makes you god. At best your agnostic- there's a creator (accepting that or not doesn't change the fact), y'all just simply cannot make up your minds as to which god you would subscribe to. At least that's being honest and something I'm more willing to except- but not the latter or cop-out crap.
I didn't find myself exaggerate in any questions... Nor any strawmen. I simply asked what y'all avoided. You said something to the extent you were good or moral and that's something you can choose, the other alluded to they could have emotions apart from God and consciousness or something- I'd have to read back lol.

Zach, in the "allude" dept, you might say who you are addressing. If it is me, you are again making up ridiculous things about me. I only glanced at this one, if there is more, be sure to address someone else, I wont read any of it.
