So maybe Trump is the establishment's guy?

there was a time i could have defined, separated and actually made a safe explanation as to what the republican "establishment" meant. now, not so much and that fracturing of the party is possibly the only thing that could create a shoe in candidacy for the dems ... ie: Hillary. to me ... well, that's shocking that anyone with so little ability, so little integrity so much baggage could walk in to the White House with so little effort.the establishment's guy?

Re: Strange Bedfellows Supporting Trump
If Trumps ends up being the republican nominee that's exactly what's gonna happen. And that's the day I give back my republican membership card. It will be a sad day indeed.EssentialSacrifice wrote:there was a time i could have defined, separated and actually made a safe explanation as to what the republican "establishment" meant. now, not so much and that fracturing of the party is possibly the only thing that could create a shoe in candidacy for the dems ... ie: Hillary. to me ... well, that's shocking that anyone with so little ability, so little integrity so much baggage could walk in to the White House with so little effort.the establishment's guy?
But I have to believe we're smarter than that (he says, hoping against hope).

I hate to break it to you, but the American people are NOT smarter than that. After 4 years of Hussein, I thought there's no way that guy could get elected again.
Maybe Trump is a plant for the dems. He's not a conservative. Although he plays one this time around.

Re: Strange Bedfellows Supporting Trump
A lot of the reason is younger voters can't connect the dots between stupid policies and politics and the slow, but increasingly faster, erosion of our society, economy and security. This and the fact that they are easily manipulated by emotional, slight-of-hand issue. You know, keep people's focus on some superficial thing going on in THIS hand, while the real dirty deeds are being done with the other hand. Politics by tabloid and sound byte. Which is why Trump has so brilliantly succeeded with his superb manipulation of the media and public. He understands so well how the game is played. And, he gives the media a huge audience while they set Hillary up with an easy "Alley Oop" over the net for an easy slam dunk.
UNLESS, Queen Hillary's past does her in. And yet, might Trump be as bad or worse?

Re: Strange Bedfellows Supporting Trump
What is so bad about Trump? I don't know much about his economic policy and that concerns me some but when I hear him speak about the threat we face and in a non-PC way I like what I hear. His outspokeness does'nt really bother me as I prefer that to PC.I'm also fed up with both the Republican party and Democrat party and their PC.
Trump might be the key to get them back on track after he wins and gets his chance. I'm tired of the weakness of the republican party that does'nt know how to lead and stand up and fight politically like the Democrats do. Republicans always cave and so Democrats get their way. I'm tired of it. It is one reason I got out of politics because I saw what they did when Bush was President and they had the majority and they still got pushed around by the Democrat party. I think its time to try a non-politician like Trump.

Re: Strange Bedfellows Supporting Trump
Well I expect the Democrat party to push socialism on America and if we are going in that direction I would rather it be the Democrat party that takes us there not the Republican party which is wh I did not vote for McCain over Obama- McCain is "The Maverick" to Democrats because he stabbed Republicans in the back politically so many times in the senate but it really makes no difference really and its been this way for far too long. Republicans get all religious and conservative while running but it stops once they get to Washington, then we have no real opposition party.edwardmurphy wrote:The grass is always greener...abelcainsbrother wrote:I'm tired of the weakness of the republican party that does'nt know how to lead and stand up and fight politically like the Democrats do. It really makes no difference whether republican or democrat we still get more socialism. You really have no reason to oppose the Republican party like you do because they are helping to give you more socialism that you like, they are just alittle slower than Democrats are.

Please define "socialism" and give me some examples of how it's being spread by either party.
Also, it's the "Democratic" Party. I don't know if you're saying it wrong on purpose, but I thought I'd mention it because there are conservatives out there who do.

Also I've never heard the Democrat Party be called the Democratic party but it makes no difference to me.

Really? They've been called the Democratic Party for a couple hundred years. The "Democrat Party" is what conservatives call the Democrats when they want to be insulting and don't mind sounding childish.abelcainsbrother wrote:Socialismedwardmurphy wrote:Please define "socialism" and give me some examples of how it's being spread by either party.

Now that we have a definition can I get some examples of the socialist policies that you insist are cropping up all over our country?

Re: Strange Bedfellows Supporting Trump
Instead of pointlessly argue over terminology, why not just state what present specific favored policies and ideas of Democrats or individual politicians you dislike. Political labels can sometimes be rather amorphous or misunderstood. The other thing is that politicians are individuals, and thus not a party, even if they might have some very similar ideas, yet with important nuances. Sometimes, politicians - whether for better or worse / altruistically or cynically manipulative - have evolved in their thinking. So, keep it in the here and now, as to what you don't like about a given party or politician, to heck with arguing over terminology.Back to socialism -

Re: Strange Bedfellows Supporting Trump
I saw on the news last evening that the beautiful Miss Alaska has endorsed HRH Donald Trump. If Trump is good enough for Sarah, I'll support him as well. He has my vote...but I can't vote, so I will do what most Americans do: I just won't vote.
Did you guys see Sarah's dress at the Iowa convention? She's really a classy woman. Democrat women are all so plain...

You've got to be kidding. Sarah Palin is a clown. She quit her job as governor to become a pundit, for god's sake. Who does that? How is she even welcome in a political party?Furstentum Liechtenstein wrote:I saw on the news last evening that the beautiful Miss Alaska has endorsed HRH Donald Trump.
