Death Of A Loved One
Hello all, well my grandpa with the struggle he has had in life being a diabetic and having sugar anyways, caused him consequences. About 30-40 minutes from the time of this post, my grandpa died comfortably in his hospice bed. He is my dad's dad, and my dad flew to Idaho, one state over from where we live, Oregon, and he was there to say his goodbyes and just to love him. He rapidly lost weight and was hospitalized, and over the last couple of days he lost the ability to talk. He had lung and kidney problems. My grandpa was a wonderful man that I wish I got to know him better. Very religious and spiritual mostly his whole life. He was 77. His wife died December 2002. He was the last surviving elder of the family line and now he is gone. He is now with his wife he has missed so much in heaven, in the presence of our Lord, and there is now no more pain, no more suffering, and no more crying. He is at peace with his wife . Please pray for my family and my other family members as this is going to be a very hard next 7 days. Me and my mom are making the 7 hour drive tonight. Oh man, this man was such a godly man, he was so kind and gentle and great, and served the Lord for as long as he could through death. We all will face it one day. Please keep us in your prayers. Thank You.

Hello, I got back home today, 10/16/05, from Nampa, Idaho after spending 7 days there, got there on 10/09/05. Long 8 hour drive there and back! It was a very sad time for our families. My grandpa was the mayor of Nampa, Idaho for 4 consecutive terms (16 years). He died of heart failure on 10/08/05 in his bed at home. VERY strong man of faith in Jesus Christ. We viewed him on 10/12/05 at the funeral home and then had one small service and one large service on 10/13/05. The local t.v. station, newspapers, etc... provided the details. He was a great man that I wish I got to know better during his lifetime and I am angry at myself that I can't go back and change it . He was in a very nice suit and looked like a proud American that served his city well lying in his casket with the American flag covered over it. No one can fill his shoes in all the accomplishments he did for his city. I was one of the pall-bearers along with my cousins. I also had the opportunity for once to drive my family in my car to the cemetery behind two cars, the first was the hearse, then my uncle's, then mine, and then all others behind me. All local police honored this man and they saluted him to his grave in which he lies in the same grave as his wife that died on the month of December in 2002. These events this past week have been sad yet joyful for celebrating such an honored man, for he will be greatly missed. We did a lot of cleaning out the house on Friday, Saturday, and today. We inherited lots of the stuff he had, I took the religious statues and paintings that are AMAZING. I would also like to note that he visited us after death in different ways, supernaturally, helped us cope with our problems because of his death. At my grandpa's is when I felt the most connected with God, but no where else. All my dreams change and things happen.
Anyways, just thought I would like to share. I understand the meaning of death more and how fragile life is, but it isn't the end, not after what happened after his death and also the promises Jesus provides.

Looks as though he was well liked:

Hope everything went as well as it could have.He loved the city of Nampa because he loved people, he had a personal interest in the people and it showed in everything he did. He was a type of gentleman that you would want as your father, grandfather, as your teacher," said Nampa Mayor Tom Dale.
