In regards to false teachers and prophets. See Matthew 7:15-16.So a person sees the Fruit and knows what kind of tree it is.

The fruits of the spirit are different from spiritual gifts that each believer receives at the time of their salvation. I brought up spiritual gifts because you mentioned teachers and prophets.
The Matthew passage seems to indicate that False teachers / prophets will Also be known. By what they are teaching / prophesying. Is a person teaching that Jesus Christ was God's Son and that He was crucified and rose again bodily on the 3rd day? And what is the message of the prophet? Is he prophesying God's Word? Do those prophesies come true? There have been those over the years who have prophesied various dates and happenings that have Not happened. So they would be false prophets.
That's one reason why each person needs to be reading the Bible on their own and not just believe any teaching that's going around. Compare teaching with God's Word. It Should be God's Word plus nothing. Some groups start out with God's Word and the leader adds his own 'take' on it which ends up being a Lot of non-Bible.
