In a scientific study, religious persons were paired with people who were disclosed as either homosexual or heterosexual and either promiscuous or celibate.
It was discovered that the religious participants helped the celibate participants equally regardless of orientation. But helped out less the participants who were promiscuous in the study's tasks.

The whole "everything you know is wrong" mantra is a bit cliche, but it could not be more true in terms of every negative accusation lobbed at us. And they are just that: accusations, which mean nothing when combined with empirical facts as stated above.
(Though I will admit, the only flaw in this study was that the sample composition was somehow 100% female)
