You know the same Clinton and Obama that I know. But to liberals, Clinton and Obama are centrists. In reality, Clinton is left of center, and Obama is a little further left.
So, while Hitler would probably be considered far right, I don't think anyone really believes Trump is far right. Ed is just spouting off the usual liberal rhetoric. And K, please don't tell Ed, but I only call her Hitlery because I know it gets a rise out of him.
"Lying Hillary" is the more accurate name for her anyways.

Re: Rise from the Ted? Cruz campaign may be renewed
The difference between Trump and a normal far right conservative is that Trump is honest while normal conservatives play up their belief in Christ making us think they are pro-life,pro-family and they believe marriage is between a man and a woman making us believe that things are gonna change when they are in power and yet nothing ever does. The Democrat party still gets its way when it comes to these issues.
Normal right wing conservatives run as a Reagan conservative running on conservative issues and yet nothing changes once they are in power the country still slides left. Trump on the other hand is honest while running on conservative issues,he does not lie making us believe he is more of a Christian than he is,he simply says I believe and he does not lie running making us think he is more of a Christian than he is for politics sake making us believe they are gonna be pro-life and against same sex marriages, instead he doesn't make an issue out of it and just says I will appoint judges like Scalia to the Supreme Court and I'll let the courts decide. This is honest something we lack from normal right wing conservatives who make us think they are more than they are, time after time. We did not fall for it this time.

Re: Rise from the Ted? Cruz campaign may be renewed
I live in North East Ohio, which is basically the suburbs of Cleveland and Akron. I have been to the convention center where the RNC is supposed to take place. It is only one block from the lakefront, so it's going to be packed on the outside. I really hope there is law and order come July. Because there will actually be three factions at the RNC: Trumpists, the majority, Republicans, the minority, and the troublemakers, a plurality, made up of all sorts of groups whose only real intention is to inflict harm on the former two.abelcainsbrother wrote:
Yeah this thread cerianly got off topic. I think it has become the political thread. But to answer the point you brought up about Cruz/Bush we have known for months the Bush family is working behind the scenes to stop Trump. And in Cleveland at the convention are going to be as many Trump supporters there that can go. It was the "stop the steal rally" but it is just the "solidarity with Tump supporters rally" now. Any protestors will be outnumbered 10 to 1 if things go as planned. There will be Trump supporters there from every state ,probably.
Also Cruz aligning himself with Bush will only prove he was not a true anti-establishment conservative and it will hurt him in future elections when he tries to run as a conservative. It also proves that Cruz is a Bush family clone.
I mean, it's going to be messy no matter what happens. Trump gets the nomination, the hooligans throw bricks. If another Republican comes in out of nowhere to sweep the nomination, the Trumpists will be furious. In their state of mind, I doubt they won't take the bait from the protesters outside, in which case, a much worse scenario.
I pray the Cleveland Police Department has reviewed the 1968 DNC incident carefully.
tl;dr let's hope the injuries are at a minimum at the RNC next month.

If Clinton and Obama are a little left, I would hate to see what far left would look like. Though I suppose if you use the model of Harrison Bergeron for the precipice, or end result, of leftist government, then Hillary and even Obama would look mild by comparison. Though I agree that Hillary is slightly less left than Obama: Hillary is just trying to pad her purse with the presidency, while Obama is a pure ideologue.
Also, Hitler far right? I hope you know that the "wings" of politics, left and right, have to do with the size of government.
LEFTtotalitarianism/authoritarianism/simple tyranny <--------(undefined center)--------->anarchy RIGHT
Considering it takes a lot of government power to strip away Human Rights like Hitler did, I would place him safely in far left. Never forget that it is not we the people who have been responsible for misery in human history, but men with positions of power over we the people. A little or a lot less government is always good.
I can also tolerate Ed, mostly because I have literally heard everything he said recycled 200 times before. I have built up such a tolerance to his talking points. I mean, I came to godandscience.org forums to hear something fresh and new for a change, but it follows me everywhere....

That's right ACB! Thank ya Geezus!!!
Can I get an A-men?
Sorry, that prayer kinda made me sick to my stomach.
Nothing like having Kenneth Copeland praying over Trump. The same Kenneth copeland that had Ted Cruz's father on his show, promoting the "God told me Ted will be the next president" farce.
What a bunch of self-aggrandizing hypocrites.

Agreed... Obama has never no where near the center. I would say that Hillary used to be close to center until she had to go left to beat Bernie.RickD wrote:K,Kurieuo wrote:Centrists? However, Hillary is actually to the right of Trump on Foreign Policy and Trade.
It is kind of painful to watch Trump try to pander to evangelicals and conservatives. So, while Hitler would probably be considered far right, I don't think anyone really believes Trump is far right.
Honest?... I don't think so!!!
However, I do think that Trump is almost the textbook definition of a fascist. Totalitarianism and Nationalism are are a regular part of Trump's campaign rhetoric. Combine that with the anger and hate that Trump nurtures, and even though Trump is no where near a conservative, his rhetoric and nationalistic fear-mongering regarding people of different ethnicities and religions is fascist.
At the time of Jesus, the Samaritans were despised by their culture for ethnic, religious, and political reasons. Jesus showed love to the Samaritans, not hate. IMHO... It is sad to see some Christians and evangelicals defending and in some cases embracing Trump's very anti-Christian rhetoric of of bullying, anger, and hate.
If you are going to go there, then to be 'fair and balanced' you also need to accurately name "Lyin' Donald" who has an even worse problem telling the truth than Hillary does."Lying Hillary" is the more accurate name for her anyways.

When people start lying and slandering they've already lost the argument. It is one thing to not vote for or support Trump, but to just make up lies and slander him? Shows weakness in your arguments politically and it will only work on low information voters. I can't stand the thought of Hillary as President but I don't just make up lies and slander her.same thing with Obama. Nothing I have said is wrong about how much danger he is putting America in.It is the truth.
