We could make this conditional pledge and Trump could "give" the vets over $6,000,0000 if he would just release his tax returns. Or, he could start something similar if Hillary releases her emails for $6,000,000 and another one if he can resist the pressure to produce his tax returns for another $6,000,000, if he can afford it.

I'm sure that Trump will appreciate Peter Kiernan's efforts to help him release his tax returns, much like Barack Obama appreciated Trump's help with his birth certificate. I love the generosity that politics inspires.

I'm sure you agree with me there was something wrong with Trump's "help" with Obama's birth certificate. I even doubt that Trump ever really believed Obama was born outside the country. Do you think there is anything wrong with what Peter Kiernan is trying to do? I think its very much the right thing to do, and I'm very appreciative of Peter Kiernan, regardless of how Trump may feel.

Thank you for your service, Peter, all of it

I think that what Kiernan is doing is far better than Birtherism - it's not racist, it draws attention to veterans' issues, there's the tiniest chance that it will result in a lot of money going to a good cause, and I really do want to see those tax returns. None of that changes the fact that it's just more passive-aggressive political shenanigans.

If you were Trump would you release your taxes going against what your lawyer tells you? I doubt it,especially when liberals have amnesia about Trump being a successful businessman and are trying to make him out to be a "conman". They have forgot about his TV show The Apprentice.

He has yet to prove that he's even being audited. Nor has he explained why his lawyers don't want him to release his taxes. The IRS says there's nothing stopping him and it wouldn't affect an audit. For all I know his lawyer said not to release them for political reasons.

Anyway, I don't care what his lawyer said. When you run for President you release your taxes. That's just how it's done.

But once you go there? Hillary needs to release the 30,000 emails, her health record, needs to come clean about Benghazi, needs to stop trying to make Trump out to be a sexist when she intimidated women her husband sexually assaulted for them to be quite to protect their political power, she needs to give the millions of dollars Saudi Arabia gave her back who treat women like dogs, needs to admit that Democrat votes do not matter which is how she working with the media stole the primary away from Bernie, needs to come clean and admit when she was SoS she ran a pay for play scam for those who would give money to the Clinton Foundation in secret offshore accounts, etc, etc, etc…

Once you go there? No, that's not the case. There is expecting Trump to do something that every other candidate for decades, including both Clintons, has done as a matter of course. Adding a bunch of additional stipulations is [nonsense].

Well his taxes were released illegally by the New York Times and it shows that Trump is smart with his money and took advantage of tax deductions that both Republicans and Democrats made law.He did nothing illegally according to the law and now this New York Times reporter could go to jail. Now do you see liberal slander and understand why they have no credibility?

1) His lawyer says it's illegal. That doesn't make it so.

2) Smart with his money??? He lost a billion dollars in a single year because his casinos and airline were disasters. Smart!

3) When Trump turned 18 he started using his dad's CPA/tax lawyer. The guy was good and as a result Trump was able to take advantage of every loophole available. But that doesn't make him a genius, it makes his lawyer a genius, or maybe his dad for hiring the guy. There's a reason we don't give awards for riding coattails.

4) This leak, along with the investigations of his "charity" and his past business dealings make Trump look like a reckless, greedy, cheapskate who lives like a king while using loopholes to get a free ride. Meantime the rest of us pay taxes like chumps. That won't bother someone who's shotgunned as much of the kool aid as you have, but it's going to be a major turn-off for a lot of people.

Clinton oversaw 4 killed in Benghazi...

Hilary mentions that around half the country is deplorable and irredeemable; Hitler shared the same attitude towrds those whom he did not like too.

Hilary called women who went against the Bill - as Bimbos... and gets support from countries who treat women as 3rd class citizens...

Hilary, under congressional subpoena, deleted emails, and had at least two phones destroyed by hammer... as well as play for pay schemes.

Comey calls her reckless...

And folks want to complain about Trump not paying Taxes in 1995 - 21 years ago under USA tax code laws that favor the wealthy?

Clinton's own tax records are just as bad - I recall the Bill donated his underwear and wrote it off as a donation....

All under US tax laws that were designed to shelter money and fleece the middle class...

Trump -who cares about taxes - like to know how he did it so the rest of the us who pay taxes can do likewise...

Smart Man!

Are you serious? Even the poor get deductions and even unearned income. Trump followed the law just like every tax payer does that both Republicans and Democrats made law and yet you are trying to say Trump is bad for following the law? Trump would be a dumb business man if he did not take legal tax deductions just like every other tax payer does. All this really amounts to is your envy that Trump is rich and you think he should volunteer to pay more taxes to the government unlike the New York Times,CNN,Hillary, etc, who don't do it either. This makes liberals and anyone pushing this( even Fox News) look ignorant when it comes to filing taxes and how our tax preparers try to get as much deducted as possible regardless of income.

I hate to sound so naive, but I believe in a social contract. We all live here, we all reap the benefits of government spending, and we all have a duty to pay our fair share.

Trump is using tax loopholes that are unavailable to the vast majority of us. As a real estate developer he gets to pretend that his real estate assets are depreciating in value and then deduct that imaginary depreciation from his income. Meanwhile, all of those assets are increasing in value, not decreasing, and he's reaping the benefits. That's ridiculous and unfair. I own a house, but I can't pretend it's losing value and use my imaginary loss to lower my tax liability. Neither can any of you, so why does he get to? He also seems to be able to deduct massive business losses and avoid paying income taxes for years to come, even while earning vast quantities of cash and living like a king.

He claims to be the champion of the little guy, but he's using all of the unfair tax deductions and loopholes that he rails against. What's worse, his proposed tax plan leaves it all in place and gives him even more advantages. He doesn't want people talking about that, so he's trying to hide his taxes to maintain the illusion that he's a man of the people rather than just another rich guy looking to get richer by taking advantage of a rigged system that was created to protect people like him.

The guy is a dishonest, self-serving scumbag.

Oh, and apparently he used a series of shell companies to buy inferior Chinese steel - you know, the stuff that's cheaper than Pennsylvania/Ohio/Wisconsin steel and is therefore killing jobs there - and use it on his projects in Chicago, thus saving himself millions by screwing the people he claims to care about. Make America great again!

I ran a small business and used the tax code to my advantage all according to law. I did not have enough employees to declare bankruptcy as Trump did to survive a famine period due to big corporate competition that flooded the market where I lived at the time. So I shut down, declared a loss so I would not have to pay the full estimated business tax during the late 1980's. Does that make me a criminal? Use the law to protect myself from unjust taxation on estimated tax income?

Small business tax laws are different than that of big super corporations where billions of dollars are involved. Large corporations like Goldman Sacs and others big cooperation's (who also support Clinton and Dem's) employ far greater numbers and any hit on them of over 500 million dollars is a serious damaging thing to the economy. So, yes, the laws are different to protect the economy from a free fall - cushion the effects is a better way to say it.

The big Dem corporate donors to the Democrats have also done the same as Trump. Hint, some have done so in 2007-2008. Why do they not receive the same media ire and comments?

Double standard is still a double standard.
