That's satan's tree. After God got mad at Satan with that whole tree of knowledge of good and evil thing, God felt bad for Satan, so He gave him his own tree.thatkidakayoungguy wrote:https://www.sciencealert.com/this-tree- ... mitstart=1

Re: Why'd God make this tree?
A better question is why did God create pinky toes? It's like just hanging out there waiting to be knocked against something. I kicked my pink toe yesterday, screamed some expletives and today it's a little swollen and really "pink" and purple.
Perhaps God has a dark sense of humour? I guess if God's all good then he wouldn't be racist, so I guess that must be it.

I'm starting to think God IS racist, and doesn't like white people. Why else would He allow us to get sunburned so easily?Kurieuo wrote:A better question is why did God create pinky toes? I don't think God would approve of anyone with a thing for the three stooges.

Re: Why'd God make this tree?
To give a serious response Kid, we know very little and assume much about the world, about reality, way in which things work, what is/isn't conscious.
Consider just this following tweak to your understanding of the nature of the world. If all of creation shared in a consciousness of sorts, animals, environment, nature, earth, rivers, oceans, trees, birds, etc -- would such change matters?

Maybe it used to work better and be less sticky, but when God cursed the ground in Genesis, it started killing things?thatkidakayoungguy wrote:https://www.sciencealert.com/this-tree- ... mitstart=1

It's like asking why God created eye parasites or tape worms... we live in a fallen world.

You have given the typical YEC response.

Because thorns only grow in Eden, correct? Women only have painful Childbirth in Eden?RickD wrote:God cursed the ground in the garden.claysmithr wrote:Maybe it used to work better and be less sticky, but when God cursed the ground in Genesis, it started killing things?thatkidakayoungguy wrote:https://www.sciencealert.com/this-tree- ... mitstart=1

The text doesn't say, but you assume that thorns didn't grow outside the garden before the fall.
The text doesn't say, but you assume that women other than Eve were punished for her sin.
Don't take my word for it. Read the text. Show me where it says that someone other than Eve would have painful childbirth. Show me where the text says that there were no thorns outside of the garden.
