Who is belial?
Re: Questions
The Hebrew word transliterated 'belial' simply means 'worthless'. It never appears in the Bible as a proper name.Mystical wrote:Who is belial?
It is used in the phrase 'sons of belial', which means 'worthless people'. This usage is found up to the 1st century, including the Qumran literature. In the intertestamental literature of apostate Jews, it is used to refer to an evil spirit, which is a false doctrine invented during that time.
These are a collection of Jewish writings from different eras. Most of them are apocryphal writings (uninspired), some of them contain the various beliefs of certain Jewish subgroups, and a number of them contain Scripture, either in the form of entire scrolls or fragments. What are Dead Sea Scrolls, Damascus Document, Zadokite Work? They can be useful from a historical perspective, from a text critical perspective, and from a linguistic perspective, but aside from those texts which are pure Scripture, they are useless in forming an understanding of the true faith.
The key phrase here is 'nothing in the bible about it'.Iggy wrote:belial is said to be satans right hand man who rebeled against satan. take the same logic with God and satan, and apply it to Belial and satan. he rebeled, tried to start his own kingdom. thats all i really know, nothing in the bible about it... try to search in google about it.
