Is this church sign too offensive ?

Post by LittleHamster »

"Gold Coast church removes ‘X-rated’ sign" :)

"While many thoughts quickly turned to sexual innuendo, church officials insisted the meaning was far more innocent and was imploring people to swallow negative thoughts rather than spit them out."

Lets have a Poll:

1 - Not offensive
2 - Mildly offensive
3 - Highly offensive
4 - Humorous
5 - Plain old Lustful
6 - Deeply religiously profound
7 - Something Jesus would say
8 - Should be in the 10 commandments
9 - None of the above
10 - Something else

I think the message is referring to people who get really angry. Those who get angry at someone, might be inclined to spit at them. So rather than spit at them, they should show forgiveness and swallow their spit (suck it up - so to speak).

...and then possibly, do something like "Love thy neighbor" ?

Now, it could also be interpreted as a pornographic message too. But I won't go into a detailed description of that one. Maybe some other member here has more experience in that department.

Yes, that's how I understood it. There's also wine tasting, you spit or swallow.

Um maybe it's just my mind, but the first thing that I thought was - what! Yes way to suggestive :)
Only when the blood runs and the shackles restrain, will the sheep then awake. When all is lost.

Sounds like a personal problem that you need to talk about with Mrs. K.

Now when I wake up each and every morning, I'll think she's not forgiving me for something. y:-?

Every morning?!?!?!

Hey K,

That church is near you. Maybe you should go there and find out the real story.

The should have used "showing grace" in place of "forgiveness," and they'd be closer to accuracy.
