Such is true love.
God is love.
Only to accept it.
God is love.
Only to accept it.
But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.

Re: The world as Satan's kingdom
I agree with BW. Satan became the ruler of this world when man obeyed him instead of God (This is seen in scripture where Satan offers Christ the kingdoms of the world). However, Christ allows the rulership transfer back from Satan to God.
Through Christ, God makes a public spectacle of evil and essentially lets Satan commit suicide by letting him do what he does best, murder.
Satan must be incredibly blinded by his pride to believe that he can outsmart or outdo God, or make God look bad in any way. I feel that God is using Satan to separate the goats from the sheep, and predictably the prideful know-it-all's will fall, and the humble servants that acknowledge and confess their sin and believe in Christ will be victorious!
Since God is outside of time, this may be equivalent of God flicking a light switch to rid the universe of darkness, to him it must be instantaneous! For us, it's relatively short, too! 80-100 years ain't that long.

Re: The world as Satan's kingdom
While Satan is the ruler of the WORLD - he's not the ruler of CHRISTIANS - as ultimately, he has no abilities that Believers are not given the Tool (Christ!) to resist him. People wrongly think the devil has power comparable to that of God. The devil's power is both loaned, limited, and restrained by God.

It's kind of disturbing that Satan gets his power from God, when you think about it.Philip wrote: ↑Wed Jun 13, 2018 6:53 am While Satan is the ruler of the WORLD - he's not the ruler of CHRISTIANS - as ultimately, he has no abilities that Believers are not given the Tool (Christ!) to resist him. Job chapters one and two explain how - we open the doors the devil can exploit.claysmithr wrote: ↑Wed Jun 13, 2018 8:12 amIt's kind of disturbing that Satan gets his power from God, when you think about it.Philip wrote: ↑Wed Jun 13, 2018 6:53 am While Satan is the ruler of the WORLD - he's not the ruler of CHRISTIANS - as ultimately, he has no abilities that Believers are not given the Tool (Christ!) to resist him. Re: The world as Satan's kingdom
I thought the point of Job was that he was righteous, and Satan thinks he will fail the test of his faith under suffering, so God allows Satan to harass him?B. Characteristics, Satan:
Genesis 3:1-7 Twists truth to seduce God's people
Chronicles 21:1 Prompts people to sin
Isaiah 14:12-14 Determines to "be like the Most High"
Luke 4:13 Waits for "opportune" times when we are vulnerable
Luke 8:12 "takes away the word out of their hearts"
Luke 13:16 Puts people in bondage
Luke 22:3 Can enter into those who reject God
Two kinds of angels, here's the difference:
God's Angels - Accountable to God (Job 2:1), Fallen Angels - Oppose God
God's Angels - Sent by God (Ex. 23:20), Fallen Angels - Requested by humans
God's Angels - Respond to God's will (Psalm 91:11), Fallen Angels - Respond to rituals (at their will)
God's Angels - God chooses which angel (Matt. 18:10), Fallen Angels - We choose our favorite angel
God's Angels - Fulfills God's will (Luke 4:10), Fallen Angels - Fulfill our will (at first)
God's Angels - Speaks in the name of God (Luke 1:28), Fallen Angels - Speak like us (if they choose)
God's Angels - Brings awe, respect, fear (Luke 1:11-13), Fallen Angels - Appear friendly and natural like us

Genesis 6:3 ESVclaysmithr wrote: ↑Wed Jun 13, 2018 7:56 amNot really. Only about 1% of the population even makes it to 100.
Women's life expectancy is about 81.1 years, and men's is about 78.74 years old.
The oldest person to ever live was 122 years old, which is very rare.
Then the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years
If that oldest person lived 122 years, than we have a problem
But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.

I think that 120 years is the amount of years that God gave humans, until the flood. Not a lifespan.1over137 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 13, 2018 9:32 pmGenesis 6:3 ESVclaysmithr wrote: ↑Wed Jun 13, 2018 7:56 amNot really. Only about 1% of the population even makes it to 100.

Re: The world as Satan's kingdom
Read the last chapters of Job where God speaks to Job and you will see that he was self righteous/pride and that was what door let the attack come in and God awoke him from it and Job repented...claysmithr wrote: ↑Wed Jun 13, 2018 2:55 pmI thought the point of Job was that he was righteous, and Satan thinks he will fail the test of his faith under suffering, so God allows Satan to harass him?B.
