Prayers for my secular family

Post by claysmithr »

I sent my family this quick document I wrote...

https://docs.google.com/document/d/13pv ... sp=sharing

Anyways, I sent it to my brother, sister, mother, and father. I would please like prayers for the Holy Spirit to begin the process of convicting their hearts for the need of Jesus. Any prayers will help.
Thank you. <3

I tried to share the gospel with my mother and father, and they are not even interested in looking into it :(

My Mom believes that "Everybody has their own truth", which is kind of absurd when dissected.

Plz pray thanks.

Sometimes it is not time for people to listen to the Gospel.
Things must happened in their lives and well, God know best what the person needs.

My prayers clay for your family.
But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.
-- 1 Thessalonians 5:21

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

Thanks, but I have to wonder how much time I have left. They are in their 60's.

Philip,

We really need to meet in person, before you keel over.

Hey, age is but a number - it's how you think, feel and live. And Rick will be my age so fast he'll be shocked. Anyway, they say 60 is the new 40! :pound:

Hey, if you exercise and stay in shape and eat right, 60 isn't that bad! :)

It's been 3 years since I've updated this.. time flies!

I'm pretty sure my parents think Christianity is a mental illness.. since I became Christian shortly after being hospitalized.

Not much has changed unfortunately. I just try to pray for them from a distance now.

I sent my brother a copy of Mere Christianity, not sure if he will read it, probably not. My sister made it clear she doesn't want any xtian materials, and that "it works for me" but not for her for some reason. I tried to show her how God had the Jewish people quarantining and washing hands thousand of years before germs were discovered, and she said something like people had 500,000 years to learn it y:-? (while not really inventing anything i guess) I refrained from replying that I don't think humanity is actually that old. She probably doesn't believe due to typical academic type issues.

I've basically stopped communicating with my siblings because it was only a 1 way communication, I would contact them and they would NEVER contact me. So, I just stopped contacting them.

I'm incredibly disturbed about knowing their fate and I try to keep on keeping on praying for them. I know it must be painful for God too to lose the living.

So.. keep praying, if you are able. There is still hope while they are alive and if God can move mountains, he can move their hearts.

Clay: So.. keep praying, if you are able.
Yes, Clay!
Clay: There is still hope while they are alive and if God can move mountains, he can move their hearts.
Of course, the question is, will they be willing to allow their hearts and minds to be moved by Him? God will, at some point, give ALL hearts and minds all the enabling required for them to cross over into belief, if they are willing. But he'll never force that upon them, as He respects their free will to continue in resistance, if that is what they so choose. People are only forever fooled by the lies about God they are determined to believe, despite a multitude of powerful evidences available to the contrary. For many people, the sad reality is, they simply don't want what God is offering them, instead settling for cheap counterfeits of what they think will make them content or happy.
