Fake scriptures?
Some bible scholars have long since debates whether some parts have been faked. Would this make the bible any less God’s word?

Re: Fake scriptures?
What does the Bible claim for itself? Doe it claim to be the words inspired by God, or just SOME words so inspired? It claims prolifically throughout to be God's inspired word!Usagi: Some bible scholars have long since debates whether some parts have been faked. Would this make the bible any less God’s word?
2 Peter 1:21
For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
2 Timothy 3:15-17
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.
Note that Jesus confirmed the ENTIRE Old Testament as Scripture, and said He came to DIE to fulfill it. Jesus / God picked His Apostles and He inspired them.
And what does it say about a person who believes God would not see His Holy Word as important enough to not allow it to become corrupted and tangled up with lies, half truths and made up myths? Is God not POWERFUL enough to protect His Word, which He came to die for? See, none of that makes any sense when one considers what Scripture claims throughout it - which is that it is God's inspired Word! Note that Peter and Paul affirmed each other's teachings to be Scripture inspired by God. And the Bible, IF it were just SOME of God's truths blended with made-up stuff of men - it would be worthless to us, as how would we ever know what was inspired by God, and what is the worthless words of man? But God did not put us in that position!
What did Jesus tell His disciples about the guidance of accurately remembering the things that He wanted them to teach?
"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you." (John 14:26)
Which tells us that God inspired His words throughout the process of it being written down.

If any of the bible were proven to be faked, or false, then yes, it wouldn't be God's word.UsagiTsukino wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2019 7:38 am Some bible scholars have long since debates whether some parts have been faked. Would this make the bible any less God’s word?
John 5:24
24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.
“A nation of sheep will beget a government of wolves.”

Re: Fake scriptures?
The obvious problems with a Bible that is faked, false, or blended with some truth of God AND some stuff men just made up or added that was never inspired by God would be:RickD wrote: ↑Sun Apr 14, 2019 10:27 amIf any of the bible were proven to be faked, or false, then yes, it wouldn't be God's word.UsagiTsukino wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2019 7:38 am Some bible scholars have long since debates whether some parts have been faked. A) It would be totally unreliable and worthless to anyone reading it! As one could never know what is of God, what is of man.
B) This would mean God has put us in terrible and dangerous position - as we would have to determine for ourselves what is true and what is not - which would be unloving as the results would lead to great evils.
C) It would show a weak God incapable of preserving the essentials of His original inspired writings
D) It would show a careless God who doesn't care about the integrity of His word or whatever corruptions might be done to it.
Bottom line: What one things about Scripture's integrity and inspiration often says a lot about their personal views of God.
However, the above does not mean that other people and groups have not ADDED ONTO God's Word / Scripture - as they clearly have. Because groups like Muslims and Mormons had founders who affirmed (at least to some degree) parts of the Bible (Islam, parts of the Old Testament and Mormonism both Testaments), while tacking onto it NEW, writings of purely man-made, non-inspired (other than perhaps demonic) works (Muhammad / Muslims adding on the Quran and Joseph Smith / Mormons adding on the Book of Mormon). And this is a powerful technique of those of evil intent throughout history - as people have attempted to bring credibility to their own supposedly "truthful" or "inspired" writings of "god" by attaching such false writings to the Bible, which are many centuries older than the New Testament (about 19 centuries older than the Book of Mormon and 6 centuries older than the Quran).
The other commonality to those like Joseph Smith and Muhammad, who added / attached their own, much-later writings to the Bible, is that they went off in some unseen corner and claimed some sort of mystical transmission of supposed ADDITIONAL words of "god." As opposed to the many prophets and Apostles of God who often affirmed each other and that were all on the same page about the overall messages and teachings of Scripture, as these lone figures like Joseph Smith, etc., went off in some dark place without anyone knowing how or witnessing it, and then later came back with supposed new revelations of God - which is how writings of mysticism always have worked. And thus no one has any reason to view such un-validated, un-attested assertions as being the truth. Note that the prophets and apostles of Scripture - as opposed to the writers of mysticism - were typically validated (by God) via great miracles performed to show that their teachings and revelations were from the true God, or their future pronouncement later validated.
