In the New Testament, it is recorded that Jesus said of John the Baptist: "Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist." And yet, we also learn of this remarkable man Jesus held in such high esteem, nonetheless, under duress, in prison, knowing he might well be executed at any moment (and so he was), nonetheless was human and expressed his doubts over Jesus: "2 Now when John heard in prison about the deeds of the Christ, he sent word by his disciples 3 and said to Him, “Are you the One who is to come, or shall we look for another?” (Matthew 11) And lest we forget, this was the same John who had previously proclaimed about Jesus, "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!" (John 1:29).
