Dan Brown's novel, The Da Vinci Code, likewise furthers accusations of that OTHER gospels existed that existed were silenced and disposed of by the Church - as if they were trustworthy, accurate, or legitimate and on par with the actual Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
The book makes the claim, on page 231, that “More than eighty gospels were considered for the New Testament.” Like the gnostic writings themselves, the book is full of mysticism, hidden knowledge, and wild, unsubstantiated claims that just a modest amount of research will easily refute!
