Colbert Report on Evolution

Today, on the Colbert Report, in an interview with a scientist, he presented a new finding of some kind of fish that was found in Antarctica and he proposed that this fish is the connection between humans. The fish is supposebly 370 million years old. As one of the evidences shown that evolution happens, he demonstrated this is significant proof of evolution that connects us humans to being part of it.

Has anyone heard of this "new" evolutionary discovery? There were more funny parts than actual information being presented on it.
