Wow!

What should Christians reponse be to this potential development?

The benefit claimed is for research involving the mixing of human and animal genes is for making advancements in motor-neuron disease.

Is there an ethical issue here?

I haven't read the report, not sure what it is that they advise banning.

It wasn't clear if they advocated the banning of any type of animal having human genes, or only specific types of chimeras.
