People in the Bible with Comparision of the people of today

Post by hetfield »

Take some people of the Bible (mainly the OT) and compare them to people of today, does this have any significance?

Returning Japanese: Some Lessons from Another Culture by JP Holding
The culture of the Bible was more like Japan's than ours, which affects how we read the Bible.

Is this what you mean?
The Bible says they were "willingly ignorant". In the Greek, this means "be dumb on purpose". (Kent Hovind)

People do not change. The Bible is a testimony that man has a sinful nature and that without God's intervention he proclivity is to do what is evil and rebellious towards God. Without God's help the only thing we as a human race have gotten better at is killing people. So yes the examples of the OT people are still relevant for today. Even the most righteous in the Bible are reveled to have sinful natures. They are able to do what they do because of God's help. It is the testimony of God working through sinful people to accomplish his people and to gather together those that are his.
