Has anyone heard of a woman teacher - Pastor Melissa Scott?

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about her ministry?

BW, I did a Google search (which maybe you have already done) and came up with the following...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugene_Scott - information on the late husband of Melissa Scott.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melissa_Scott_(pastor) - Wikipedia deleted the information on this page. Interesting!

The information does trigger "proceed with caution" warning bells for me. This "pastor" was a better-known pastor's much younger third wife and she was ordained by him near the end of his life in order to continue his ministry. I wonder what other qualifications (if being a much younger third wife is any qualification at all) she has for the ministry? You might need to listen to some of her sermons or worship services (accessed from one of those sites found by Google) to find out more and reach your own conclusions about her.

What has made you interested in her, BW?
I would be interested in your appraisal if you decide to explore further.

I just ran across her TV show late night and she was explaining Greek text of Eph 1:1-11. It was interesting. I thought someone here on forum may have heard of her. I am on vacation in Durango Colorado and haven't watched much TV this past week so I haven't had time to check out her ministry.

Another aside: Did you know that Purgatory Ski resort had to change its name? Since I am at a hotel — can't check out why they had to change the name — maybe political correctness run amuck again!? Hope to be back home this weekend….

Act 9:6
And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?

I am now back home. Her program comes on too late for me too watch. Just curious if anyone knows her doctrinal position? I could not locate it on web site. What I saw, she did a good job explaining Greek text and word meanings but other than that, I do not know much else. I also have never heard of her late husband.

PL — you here? You went to ORU didn't you — JUST KIDDING!!!! :P

I have been watching her as well in the past few months. From what I can tell, her doctrinal position is that we are all sinners saved by Grace as only a work of God. And that Jesus died on the cross for all. It seems she teaches a correct Gospel. And I actually enjoy some of it. I have not heard anything that is completely way out there compared to the Christian faith.

I have seen recordings of her husband Gene Scott and he is harder to follow. While he is translating the Greek and Hebrew and Ethiopic, He uses words like "faithing" and "amening" to describe being in the faith.

He describes the word Amen to mean completely lack of doubt that something will come to pass (my paraphrase) He explains it as "SO BE IT". From what I could tell by his description, it is a level of Faith that only God has that we should strive for. I may be way off though, thats just how I interpreted what he said. But it does seem to make some sence in light of the words of Jesus where he talks about the faith of a mustard seed.
