Save the Planet: Don't Wipe
Sheryl Crow wants to limit the use of toilet paper to "one square per restroom visit, except, of course, on those pesky occasions where 2 to 3 could be required."
Obviously, she's never had hemorrhoids.
I wonder how this will be enforced...

I think Sheryl has severely underestimated the inpredictability factor of the human digestive system.puritan lad wrote:Sheryl Crow wants to limit the use of toilet paper to "one square per restroom visit, except, of course, on those pesky occasions where 2 to 3 could be required."

She really doesn't know her feces.

Once upon a time (no, this is not a fairy story!) when I was doing my impoverished camping through Europe thing, I found myself needing to visit the "Ladies" somewhere in Austria (no, it wasn't my only stop for the entire trip) and on entering the little stand-apart concrete building, I was greeted by a very plump woman guarding the entrance. She was there to dish out one's ration of loo paper. Clearly she was some kind of conservationist. My allocation was exactly ONE SQUARE. I jest not! Luckily, I already had my own roll of it, having already encountered the effect of foreign micro-organisms on the digestive system.
Do these people honestly expect you to manage with just one square? And it wasn't even 2 ply, and certainly not "quilted" or printed with poetry as the stuff is that our supermarket sells.

Judah, your tp has poetry on it? Now I see where you get your flair.Judah wrote:Once upon a time (no, this is not a fairy story!) when I was doing my impoverished camping through Europe thing, I found myself needing to visit the "Ladies" somewhere in Austria (no, it wasn't my only stop for the entire trip) and on entering the little stand-apart concrete building, I was greeted by a very plump woman guarding the entrance. Back in the fifties I spent my summers in northern Vermont. I bet Sheryl would have loved their means of economizing, they really did use old catalogues. Also out in the fields and woods a renewable resource was a broad leafed plant called burdock.Judah wrote:Oh my goodness, I think you are right, FFC.FFC wrote: Judah, your tp has poetry on it? It comes from spending too long in the loo !!
I have sometimes wondered how earlier societies dealt with the natural requirements of being human.

Yes, but it is economical too.. Just think of it as being another way to cut the cheese..FFC wrote: Oh, that is so wrong on so many levels.
